A hack of Pseudolonewolf's MARDEK RPG series. I made it a few years ago, it's unfinished, and will never be finished, but apparently there are people still interested in playing it.So here it is.
There is a ridiculous near-impossible riddle near the end of the game. I regret ever making it.
Hint: You catch it at the spot south of the Grove. But what matters is where YOU were caught last.
I'm uploading it here because I'm fairly confident that deviantart will not go down any time soon. Even though uploading this here probably breaks some rules. I don't care.
Disclaimer:
This is not something I made from scratch. Since it was released under some proprietary license, that means I stole it. I had no right to modify it, nor do I have any rights to distribute it. I highly doubt the author of the game will ever care though.

I do miss Mardek, and want to make games like it
But Pseudolonewolf doesn't want to finish it, doesn't mean we can't
Also i think you did a great job on this, you caught the style and heart well

Hej, I think this is a great game, it fits well in the Mardek story during chapter II and should last until the Solaar fight in the dark temple as the final boss. Maybe you could have Muriance as a team mate at some point, go to Aeropolis, and you'd use the portal to Xanthusia in the sun temple and meet the dark counselor there, he would tell you to steal the crystal in the sun temple to create the mess there and lure away sslenck. Then the portals stops working and the counselor will send steele in the dark temple to take the dark crytsal.
I think though there should be some average area between the easy bees and the moth forest, which is kinda deadly at low level and without the two punch skills. You have to either skip or escape a lot of fight, or grind until you can 1-hit the gruuls.
You say you stole it, but I think it can be viewed as a tribute to Mardek, yet you used the graphics, music and engine and all, but you created a new game with some new stuff.
No idea what Pseudolonewolf would think about it, I think it's fine as you're not making any money with it. But imo you should (maybe you have) contact him and try and have a deal about finishing it with his agreement, with his help or with some other guys. Maybe a way to make him come back to the original mardek, and learn about team work, so someday we'll see finally Mardek 4 ? It's a long way, but I think he needs to realise that Mardek is his best work and he would be selling Mardek mugs and t-shirts by now, had he continued the serie.
Btw how do you use the warp stones ? I feel stupid.

Thanks, would have never guessed that, I think I didn't read enough of those p-talk in mardek.
Though was just the end of the game right after the tainted grotto entrance, I would have wanted to be able to just visit freely every place of the map after it, but well.

Could you share the way you modified the game? It could be interesting doing some experiments.

They used flasm (flasm.sourceforge.net/ ), various resource packers/unpackers, HEX-editing, etc.
Trust me, you probably don't want to edit the game that way xd
Nowadays just use JPEXS: github.com/jindrapetrik/jpexs-β¦

I believe that some day not only Mardek but Raider and other old projects come back maybe in the form of remakes, Pseudolonewolf was a genius creating these games, he should not give up, but man, this and the first fangame I see in the series, I loved playing , I felt a curious child that not even the first time I played the 3 chapters XD I admit that I "cracked my head" in that last puzzle. I hope that someday I'll come back with this project too, I'm Brazilian, and I want the staff from here know this masterpiece made in a program as "simple" as the flash ^_^

Michos buddy i know that i haven't made any contribution to the making of this game but you should give me some credit or atleast a metion that i have played the WHOLE modification that you made and spent hours with you on steam to solve that riddle at the end with the fairy and feedback on the fight with Vern the in cave. I also spread the word about your mod on Kongregate and even wanted to post a link but someone did before i did so i felt it was pointless to add another link but maybe i will post again to keep people informed cause i was very LUCKY to have found you of all the people that worked/tested the mod i only found you and by chance,others weren't so lucky i might post links on other sites too if the site allows me and you already gave me permission so that is out of the way.
But the most important thing is to thank you for doing this ''experiment'' which proves that anyone skilled enough [and with the time of course] can do what Pseudo did BUT MARDEKΒ Chapters took so long to make because he worked alone instead with a team which would have speed up the procces for example one working on weapons,one on armor,one on NPCs and their dialogue that kinda thing but he tried to do everything by himself and if history taught us something is that everything good or bad runs out of speed/steam/momentum by the time he was close to completing Half of the number that he initialy wanted to do he got bored and change as a person radicaly so in essente he wasn't the same person that made them in the first place but not all hope is lost maybe one day God will smile on this game and those that played it and some team will ressurect MARDEK from the grave like teams are trying to ressurect alot of games/ideas like Cartoon Network Fusionfall which is close to beign reborn anew as CN Fusionfall Retro and then Legacy which will be the remastered version but Alas time will tell the fate of this game

On the whole, this is very good for a fan-made side-game type thingy! There were a few moments that just felt 'not right' but that's more due to the impossibly high standard that Tobias set with the writing and humour in his games. And there were many moments where I felt you had captured his style almost perfectly, and the game as a whole was enjoyable to play.
May I ask why you decided to leave it unfinished?
If Tobias ever did give permission for someone to use his engine and finish MARDEK (not very likely, I know), would your interest in doing so reignite?Β
I feel that this little 'experiment' of STEELE RPG does go to show that MARDEK could, potentially, be finished one day.

'You catch it at the spot south of the Grove' I caught it at the west most point of the maze, I put the trap there, then I went to the south exit to be warped to the start, then went into the western entrance of the maze, and it worked.
