The last panel is from AFTER MAN, 50 million yaers after the death of the last human. A rabbuck is being attacked by far future descendants of rats, which have evolved into the dominant carnivore order of mammals.
Dougal's vision is flawed. He described the pirrup bat , a totally eyeless bat, asΒ "so-called because of the sound of its voice", So-called by WHO ? He forgets that the last human, never mind scientist, died 50 million years before !
