Generic name:δόρυ (Ancient Greek:grc), dóru, “spear” + ὀδούς (Ancient Greek:grc), odoús, “tooth”.
Specific name:
atrox (Latin:lat), “cruel”.
A small archaeocete whale that lived in Tethys Sea during the Eocene Epoch. It was up to 5 metres long and about 2 metric tonnes in mass.
Colour based on common dolphin (Delphinus delphis Linnaeus, 1758).
