Michael looks around, trying to see if there is anything of importance in the area around them, but doesn’t see anything in particular. It just looks like an ordinary forest. One of the downsides of leaving their bag behind, though, is that Michael isn’t that familiar with Xatu and cannot simply use a pokedex to try and get some basic information. Instead he just has to deal with a pokemon that is just staring blankly as if nothing is there. Feeling somewhat curious as to whether or not they are even aware of their surroundings, Michael waves in front of them and at first gets no response.

“Hello?” Michael asks.

The Xatu turns suddenly and stares at Michael, causing them to take a step back and assume a more defensive posture. It blinks at them a moment but doesn’t make any actual move, aggressive or otherwise.

“Don’t be stupid Michael,” they say quietly to themselves. “You try to get a pokemon’s attention and you get it, doesn’t mean they’re about to attack you.” They speak up a bit louder. “So, um. How are things?”

The Xatu just stares and blinks at them again.
