Michael stares at them warily, but they don’t seem immediately hostile. There is nothing about them that even causes her to feel on guard. But Ryan apparently thinks otherwise of course as he rushes up and immediately pushes Michael back in order to place himself between the two of them. The other pokemon sighs at his appearance and rubs the bridge of their nose.

“Yeah, I can see why it is you have an issue with him,” they say.

“You stay away from her or else!”

“Or else what?” they demand.

Meanwhile Michael hears a sound coming from behind them and turns and sees that the Xatu has returned.

“What took you so long?” the flying pokemon asks.

The Xatu shrugs in response. “I do not possess the means to use quick attack. And though the blue one clearly has diminished cognitive capabilities, no one could ever see them move and conclude that their legs are at all lacking in regards to producing velocity. I can track, sure, but not keep up.”

“Ah, well. I suppose that makes sense. He has been able to keep up with her quite well even after all her attempts at fleeing him. And speed was never a requirement for you.”

Michael turns between the two of them, trying to figure out what the best course of action should be. She could probably dash away and at least get away from the one if not both, but would leave Ryan to face both by himself. And she’s not entirely certain what their motives are anyway. Better to keep an ear out on if anyone else is going to show up.
