Jewel of Oman Slug

Incredibly prized in the False Slug world, these Slugs are found predominantly in Oman, but can be found around parts of the Middle East. A relative of the Volcano Slug, these slugs mainly eat sand and spend their days grazing above ground and retreat into burrows into the evenings. These slugs were the first Middle Eastern False Slug to be recognised by the World Slug Breeders Alliance. This is due to the tireless hard work of Mohammad Al-Habbi, a man who became enamoured with the iridescent slugs and raised funds to save them from extinction in the 70 and 80s. These slugs are some of the most expensive in the world to own and are in the Intermediate category in terms of raising. They grow up to 60cm and require dry climates to thrive, along with copious amounts of sand to eat. These slugs can be trained, but one must be prepared to own a shy and introverted slug that does not like crowds or small spaces. Their defence mechanism is to heat their body up, preventing anything being able to touch them.

Italian Pizza Slug

A crossbreed of Bread, Lumpy and Common False Slugs, the Italian Pizza Slug is not to be confused with the American Common False Pizza Slugs; a breed of Common False Slug that makes its home in Pizza Franchises. This breed was recognised as an official breed upon the formation of the World Slug Breeders Alliance back in the 1950s. It is a rotund slug seen in many parts of Italy, France and Spain and can weigh up to 10kg. Unlike the more relaxed and friendly Bread Slug, these slugs are known for guarding their owners businesses and chasing out unruly customers. Their acid spit while not potent enough to cause skin injury can still make people sick and or stink to high heaven. An Intermediate Slug due to their temper, they are known to chase off other slugs and other animals, thus if you own one be prepared to do a very slow introduction to get the slug used to your other pets. These slugs occasionally emit a strong tomato smell or occasionally a bready or cheesy smell to entice customers or mates to come to their territory.

North African Tripper

A bizarre false slug that is considered one of the smartest slugs in the world. Believed to be a relative of the infamous Big Cheek Slug and Golgotha Slugs, these slugs live in metropolitan areas of North Africa where they eat almost anything including metal and plastic. These dangerous slugs are in the Expert category due to their ravenous appetite, moody nature and ability to get into trouble if bored. Ethical African Slug Breeders will discourage people from exporting or buying these slugs and many African states including Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan and Kenya have banned the live export of these slugs unless special permissions have been granted. Reaching up to one and a half meters, these slugs come in bizarre colours and their feelers have been used to tune radio antennas. Due to their unruly nature, few have been studied, though scientists in Kenya have been able to tame a couple of North African Trippers to be used to clean up certain types of bio-waste.
