Val never knew her mother. She had passed during Val's birth. The loss of a wife and mother didn't pour fire and disgust into the remaining Mendozas -- instead, they felt sympathy for each other and gave them all the more reason to look out and care for one another.

She grew up into the working class of Pokeyo City. Her father worked long hours as a mechanic to get by and provide the best he could for his big family. The Mendozas were very tight-knit, often spending as much time as they could together having good ol' family bonding. Val, being the youngest of 3 brothers, was always nurtured and babied with good intent. She looked like the spitting image of her mother, with the same strong and snappy attitude. She was often spoiled and given help -- even if she didn't ask for it. Val appreciated the kind gestures but it grew...tiresome. She wanted to be strong, independent, and valorous; if she kept getting spoon fed, she wouldn't have room for experience. She admired her older brothers' sense of charisma and maturity and wanted to be just as charming as them. She started to follow them into the mechanic shop, watching her brothers and father tinkering with machines from cars to robots. Her interests peaked and soon became an apprentice under her eldest brother.

After years of hard work, her father had finally stepped down from the shop. Val and her brothers took over the shop, maintaining it to its rightful glory, to what their father had built over the years. She became a hard working and skilled mechanic along side her brothers and was often the talk of the shop. Seeing a girl perform such a blue color job certainly interested the male clients. She would often charm her way out of grabbing a few extra pocket money for tips and some juicy rumors going around the busy streets. She was told about a growing...resistance gang against the upper class and its corruption. It seemed ridiculous, but the more she heard and learned of their intended goals, the more she raised her brow in interest.
