"Alderin Beta! Boring, planet of the chip shops. But there is a 400-foot tree growing out of a clifftop on the north side of a mountain in the middle of the sea. And if you take the lift to the top and look up, at exactly 12 minutes past midnight on the 21st of September 2360, you can see more stars in one sky than at any other moment in the history of the universe. It’s like daylight, only magic!"

So this started out with me finding these brushes fav.me/d5ct1i9 and I was like, "Hey! They work for GIMP!" and I really wanted to try them. I thought they would make a perfect Doctor Who sky, so I started racking my brain to figure out what to draw. My friend and I started a Doctor Who marathon the week before the new episode came out, and I watched the Night and the Doctor shorts. When I got to that quote, I was like, "I wanna draw that!" So I did. XD
I will forever love these two together, even long after River's gone.

What is so ironic the Doctor is completely wrong. River radically changes over time and it's so sharply clear in "First Night/Last Night" I guess that was to show how little the Doctor gets to truly know River as 11 as well (both Moffat and Alex Kingston have said since 2011 and still do, that 11 isn't quite River's Doctor, that her real Doctor will be 12 or maybe even 13. As for the Singing Towers and the Library, I guess it's another example of "timey-wimey" not in opposite directions but all over the place.)

I was literally JUST watching this...Ugh, my River/Doctor feelings. This is such a beautiful depiction of their little date. I especially love the detail you put into their clothing and features. River's hair looks gorgeous
