Description
This piece would have been finished days ago but I've on freshers week at my uni so I haven't had the time to finish.I may get some backlash for this but I find Ragna and Jin as characters a little boring, so I decided to combine them to show some interaction.
Big thanks goes to the artist RadiantDreamer for helping me on the composition and the poses. (Thanks XD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I agree, in fact there are numerous things wrong with it. But all I can say about that is that it was made a year or 2 ago. Sometimes I look back at older work and think... ohh god.. But you learn what's good and what can bee improved and apply that knowledge to your next work. That's what I do

I never understood why Ragna had that barrel thing on his blade... but...

I think that barrel is used whenever he does a forward throw. it fires the blade forward a bit into the opponent when Ragna grabs, thus throwing them backwards.

The colors and the perspective makes gives it quite a dynamic aspect. For some reasons...Ragna's hair reminds me of an sea urchin, but I guess that's normal. But it's really neat overall.

Really dynamic piece! I like the perspective work and the foreshortening of Jin's Yukianesa. Overall, composition works really well to convey intensity and action of this battle. Colors also look really slick, and the white lining effectively adds an icy glimmer to the entire piece. Ragna looks quite badass here and the blurred effect on his sword is a nice touch. And of course, Jin looks fittingly psychotic with that malicious yet gleeful grin.
Critique-wise, Jin's face looks slightly off. Maybe it's the placement and angle of the yes but I can't exactly pinpoint it. I would also think that his right arm holding the sheath would be smaller perspective-wise since it's further off in the distance from the viewer. Those blue side pieces attached alongside Jin's arms look like really puffy shoulder pads in this picture. xD
Overall though, nice work! I like the drawing, composition, and coloring.

thank you for one of the more thorough compliments and critiques I've had.
I'm quites happy with how Rawrgna came out but he did go through the most changes. I was told with the previous versions that he was rather stiff in posture so it took some time and some outside help to get him right. Colour-wise it was more or less what I call "a controlled fluke" whereas I have done it before so I know it works but I don't actively mean to do it. I kind of go into a default colouring routine and before I know it, I would have made touches like the white lining like I planned them to be there from the start.
I understand what you mean by Jin's face because other people have pointed it out to me before. personally I didn't know what they were going on about until said outside help made a quick paint-over to illustrate what they meant. I personally don't see anything wrong with the perspective of Jin's right arm but meh, to each to their own I guess lol. in any case, I'll be doing doing a redo later to make corrections of Jin's face later so be on the lookout for that. I kind of of like the puffy look to his blue shoulder pieces, makes them look bigger (again, a controlled fluke).
