Description
This is a picture of Neptune that I made with Photoshop CS. The picture took several weeks to complete (all of those bands took a long time to paint!). Comments and crits appreciated. I hope you like it!Related content

if the dark spot would have been more blueish, maybe it would be more natural. the black color gives the impression that it is the same color as space, suggesting there's a hole in the planet, not a spot

I think Neptune is the most beautiful planet in the solar system and is under rated. I really dont care about saturn or jupiter all that much, or even uranus for that matter. You're a great artist too.

Excellent job, I think it's great how it's all manually-painted too (you will find faster methods to create the "base bands" for gas giants...but painting in extra detail is certainly something that can't be done via filters 
I heard that Spot dissappeard years ago, too bad since it was a cool feature, but some say it could just be masked up by a temporary effect of the atmosphere

I was looking for Proteus, as it orbits Neptune from just 57,700 miles. The dark spot looks more like a shadow here, though it comes and goes according to Hubble images. Great detail though from such a "close" distance.

Yeah, more atmosphere and background space effect, you know like the ones in your other pictures? It's really good, and you must be crazy for painting every single band because that's like amazing.
