Excellent conceptual sketch. Could as easily be Twrch Trwyth of Arthurian legend. Don't ask me to pronounce the name of the monstrous boar, but in Culhwch & Olwen, King Arthur's cousin gets him and his men to get a set of comb & shear from the boar's brow so that he can marry the girl he is fated to wed. The boar was an Irish prince who was turned into a wild boar for his boorish (or boarish) behavior. Culhwch's labors to win his bride were similar to Hercules' Twelve Labors, only stranger.

Always helpful.. the more you know. Myths and creatures involved in them are a great source of inspiration and doing your own take on them is fun.
