GREMLINS! - StripeA quick pass, basically focused more on the larger image in terms of reconstructing some of the face and body features (a bit less 'character' and more species).

I love the first film, the one with all the experimented gremlins that turned into the arachnid, electric, intellectual, flying, female etc.. was fun but the original will always be my favorite for the initial transformation scene, the mom/kitchen..microwave

No no they multiply when they get wet. It's when they eat after midnight that they wind up transforming.

Really like your take on the gremlin, they still have that cute, mischievious, and menacing look to them while being a bit more creature and something I can see existing in the world. I love the movie I've always wondered what it would be like if they were to be changed like this.x3

Thanks Kate! I was tossed between making them loony and b-rate as a character or going more as a semi-realistic species and more animalistic. I'd love it if they ran with a sort of quadruped side gape and if they were slightly larger than half the size of the ones in the films.

I think you found a pretty good mash up between a character and a species. And you don't necessarily have to forego the former to accomplish the latter. There are quite a lot of loony looking animals. But these guys have just the right mix of menace and mischief. I haven't actually seen the film or its gremlins, so I can't comment on the change.

ahh.. you have to at least see the 1st film. The second kinda went overboard and got all crazy with mutated gremlins but even just to see the mogwai (fluffy cute pupil stage of the gremlins) transform into the gremlins scene is worth it.
