Description
Pigment liner pen drawings of some possible alien life forms. Extremophiles, "Silicone based Life" which is said to be the most possible form of life to perhaps exist on other planets in our solar system, or their moons. Europa for example. These would basically be like a crystal and or mechanically organic life form. Living machines if you will, which as far out as it seems is quite plausible to an extent.

same here..I don't honestly believe that Earth is the ONLY planet that has "any kind" of life. Even if there are microscopic organisms..I believe other planets contain life of some sort.
If Earth, out of all the planets in just our solar system really was the ONLY planet with life it would make you think why? I wouldn't think just because earth is the right distance from the sun that, that is the reason..it wouldn't make sense.

maybe in the future it'll be like star wars, I doubt many would appear humanoid like those crappy star trek aliens, Voyager had some good ones I like, not the borg which they are lame.

Some real cool creature designs you got going on here mike!

Very cool, did you do any environments for these silicon creatures?

Just a couple thumbnail sketches. I never got around to really fleshing out any of the ideas and concepts. The thumbnails will give you an idea how the world kind of reflects the creatures, but they were only done in the early stages of design.

I think that #1 is the best in this series (all of the pics you've submited with silicon based lifeforms).

I'm not 100% sure what you mean when you refer to the flip open trick but thanks.
Do you mean the bio luminescent-like fibers that are found on a lot of the creatures?
If that's what you meant, it's a biological element used in various ways according to each distinct creature. Whether they're there to sift through sand particles, or to catch prey like jellyfish by extending them to extreme lengths and producing a sticky substance, or to use them for mating displays, extra sensory reasons and ways of connecting separated portions of the bodies design like metal veins or strands of thin fiber-like bones.

Thanks Cory
The one time I had done "a lot" of research while creating some designs. I had done most of these pigment liner concepts with Sammy Hall on a joint project that never went anywhere but had a nice start. Sammy opened my eyes to all sorts of crazy awe inspiring information, youtube videos, philosophers and history, technology, space etc.
