Just some rough compositional doodles. The top right sketch was done for the 1 year ImagineFX tribute Illustration I posted earlier. The 4 below that and bottom right images were sketches done for the "An Army Summoned" image which was for an IFX magazine workshop. The top right was just a random doodle of a giant out of water whale-like creature swimming/flying in a canyon creek.Related content

I like this sketch! I like the way the people look. Makes me think of Breath of Fire 4 with the hex lifters. awesome.

Did you ever proceed to render out the image in the top right? Compositionally it's very creative
When seeing it i instantly thought of how amazing it would be to have that kind of seen take place in a video game.

Yea, I posted the illustration earlier. They were bright red with glassy/blue eyes, a bright orange sky with a graphic-dragon embedded in the clouds.

The canyon whale deserves the full colour treatment...thats just awesome!

I thought it would be cool. Having these cowboys/old west caravan people camping out to catch a glimpse of the great beast as it swiftly maneuvers through the giant canyon walls eventually heading back underground once every few decades or something.

...and then one young guy out to prove something tries to kill/ride it and the entire colony gets wiped out by either it or the whole herd of them, alerted by its agonized cries.
I'd watch that film if you mde it.
