Well, you can see I work out rough lines and smaller thumbnails first before moving on to something a little more detailed so I have an idea where it's going. If I had gotten the time to finish the scene in rendered out. I could utilize values, color and lighting to keep it busy but still lead the viewers eyes where I want and make the key focal points stand out.

True....you make the important lines and after that you make the details, right?..hum...you ´re right.....you don´t get lost because you have a sketch with the principal idea...i like that way to work....But i make more simple drawings...so....i never folow that way of work..only when it´s something important ^^
I see....you build your drawing in a away of make people look for the place you want they look...^^ Good ^^
