-Bio: Scuttlebutt is a very laid-back and easy-going brake van that works on various areas all over the Northwestern Railway. With his relaxed and go with flow temperament and Northern Irish accent, the engines trust him greatly, and Scuttlebutt is always willing to help, and can easily handle the trucks just by being his mellow self, and can discipline them by being very persuasive and charismatic towards them. As a brake van, he takes his job seriously when looking after trucks, preventing runaways, or alerting any pulling him if there is an emergency like a break away or an obstruction on his trains. He is very patient and mellow that he lets any engine take their time, but if not used in a while, he can feel left out, and on occasions has a grumpy side, but never too a fault. Overall, Scuttlebutt is always fun to be around, and because he is assigned to nobody, he is always happy to be working anywhere around the railway, so he isn't missing that much, and is always great at making conversations.

-Artist's Commentary: Happy St. Patrick's Day Everybody! I would've saved this for later, but I decided I can't put this off any longer, here is my next original character in Engines Together; Scuttlebutt the Brake Van. Now the reason I thought of uploading him today was because it is St. Patty's Day, and my character Scuttlebutt is Irish, and I chose for him to be Irish because the inspiration actually came from the TUGS character, Scuttlebutt Pete. Though unlike that Scuttlebutt, my Scuttlebutt is more laid back and chill, though occasionally grumpy and can gossip sometimes. So that would be 4 Irish characters in my series so far, Luke, Connor, Caitlin, and now Scuttlebutt.

I thought it would be cool too have my own brake van character that was more laid-back, very mellow when disciplining the trucks, and is assigned to various engines, so he works here, there and everywhere, and of course, he is another brake van character along with Toad. As for Bradford, he was cool, but I don't really plan too add him in. So I thought having a polar opposite of that character was cool, but that doesn't mean Scuttlebutt isn't serious, as he is when needed. I promise I will do a full drawing of him so you can see what he fully looks like. But I will say this, Scuttlebutt is based off of an LNER 20-ton Brake Van, the same as the Spiteful Brake Van's basis from the Railway Series, and since my series is leaned more towards the classic series, he is the BR design we saw in the series, but in the same design his recent Bachmann model is painted in. I hope you all enjoy this, and Happy St. Patrick's Day 2019.

An Irish brake van, eh? I wonder if we'll have a Scottish or perhaps a Welsh brake van next.

Not really! Just an Irish one! And because he’s based off of Scuttlebutt Pete from TUGS!

I am aware of that. By the way, which engine do you think Scuttlebutt would belong to? You know, like Toad is Oliver and Douglas’ brake van, and Bradford is Samson’s brake van. What about Scuttlebutt? He could probably be Ryan or Stanley’s brake van. Or maybe Paxton’s or Molly’s.

Actually, he’s not owned by anybody! He’s actually used by any of the engines! So he’ll anywhere and everywhere on different parts of the railway. P.S. Just for the record, I decided to ex Molly from my series, I didn’t exactly feel particularly interested, and didn’t have a place for her.
