Late...2 weeks after Halloween because I am beyond the laws of time. Just kidding
the deadline was extended.This is my entry for the W.I.T.C.H. Halloween Contest w-i-t-c-h-universe.deviantart.… , run by the group
Anyway, this was super fun to make and a good practice for me as I've always avoided drawing BG and night scenes. I still need to study light & shadows some more but I think I've improved a little so I'm glad.
I wanted to try to give the guardians outfits that would match their personality. Will is some sort of a witch as she seemed to like it in the comics, I thought Taranee would be great as Queen Cleopatra due to her African genes (+her black skin goes well with bright and royal colors and I loved painting her. It was a challenge.) also she seemed to like colorful jewels
Cornelia is kind of a Barbie princess 
you can't disagree with the fact that she would throw royal shade on everybody 
Irma is a bubble-costumed-Medusa, I wanted to try to show her curvy body type. Hay Lin is a parrot-girl. Something like that.W.I.T.C.H. (c) Disney and the respective comic authors.

I think this is gorgeous.
The technique is absolutely amazing. I agree and share with you the akwardness for big scenes with a night background, but to my eyes I can say you succeded grandly.
the costumes you chose for them match perfectly. I like Cornelia as a Barbie Princess, it's totally in her style.
But my favourite is Taranee by far! The egyptian clothes and jewels are splendid on her.
I would love to see a closer version of Hay Lin as cutie little parrot girl :3

Taranee was my favorite to draw this time, I had a lot of fun with the jewels for I like to draw shiny things
I think I could post a zoom in version of Hay Lin and Irma on my stash, maybe.
