Description OK so I have a burning question that maybe someone can answer in regards to the old demon's head here. In TAS his name is pronounced (Ray-shh) Al Ghul, but in Nolan's trilogy he's pronounced (Ra-s). Anyone know what the correct pronunciation is? I prefer TAS version personally.

Enjoy.

Actually, being of both Arabic and Hebrew descent neither is fully correct , however the Nolanverse one is closer to the original Arabic, the TAS and Official DC pronunciation is a weird-ass mix of Arabic and Hebrew(To be clear,Semitic languages do not contain hard "ay" sounds, that`s exclusive to English and the Latin Romance languages)Denny O` Neil pulled out of his ass after speaking with a university student(Neither of whom were either Arabic or Semitic Jewish, there`s a difference between New York Jews like O` Neil and most DC staff and legit Semitic ones like Ra`s is descended from).  I explain the confusion and its source in greater detail in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9O00F…

It think Rayzh is right, as that pronunciation was used in "Arkham City" and "Son of Batman"

I think the old Who's Who had the pronunciation as Rayshh.

That's how I always thought it was pronounced. Always drives me crazy in Batman Begins when they mispronounce his name.

I know. I was always a stickler nerd like that. I made DAMN sure I knew how to say Mxyzptlk. My wife rolled her eyes when we were watching Big Bang Theory. Sheldon said "Mixelplick" which is how Superfriends said it. It's "Mix-Yez-Pit-Lik".

Like I said, "nerd"!

I go with the animated series personally because I like how it sounds and I liked the series far better than the movie, but that's just me.
