I don't know anything about this book, but:

A.) It looks amazing.

B.) The homies in the window should have their own book.

First I'd like to say I love all of your work and look forward to viewing each new piece. But here is a small crit: Sometimes I notice the expressions on your characters faces don't quite match the scene or action. Case in point is the main image on this spread. Vampirella seems to almost have a look of anguish on her face rather than one of rage or anger (or just a look of someone getting a complete kick out of smoking everyone in the room). One other small point is the lack of attention to the drawing of the demon dog, particularly in the last panel.

this is really cool, love the dynamism here, vampirella looks amazing, but it looks like you had a model pose the different positions, which I think adds to your realism, the action squence with the dog is my favorite part really

Dog's head looks a little off in comparison with your humans, which are always so spot-on. I'm liking the greater emotion you get in Vampy's face in the last two panels, and the shotgun effects are super; the first one especially is really eye-catching.

the dog is supposed to be a deformed mutant dog.

For the central pic, her neck and her backbone are really weird, the curve of her back between her shoulder and her pelvis make her body really big, and she has a big neck in my opinion.

For the others, your works are great, the actions, your style of drawings, the dynamics are great, all of the others cases are great !

Mike,

I see that you pencil these but what is it like when its sent to print? Do you ink or paint over it?

holy crap! Someone told me comic artists love to work fast... maybe 3-4 pages a day... i can see how these take you so long though

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mikemayhew In reply to bit2947 [2009-10-25 16:17:32 +0000 UTC]

3-4 pages a day? Maybe Jack Kirby could do that, but 5-7 pages a week is an average pace for most pencillers.
