Description
This is a destroyer warship that I built in Minecraft. It is based off of an experimental Japanese destroyer Shimakaze. There were actually two Japanese destroyers called Shimakaze, this is the bigger and newer one, which actuallly never saw combat. I tried to keep the dimensions relatively close to the original ship, however, I took some liberties here and there when it comes to some of its details and their proportions. The ship has simple interior, which is, however, not based on the real design.The screenshot was taken in Minecraft 1.17.1 with OptiFine and Complementary Shaders.

Why I haven't discovered this sooner? This looks amazing, the ship looks proportional and just right in Minecraft. Love the details you've done for the ship.

For a first "serious" ship build, its amazing. Heck, the first ship I build was really out of scale.
Btw, I'm also interested in your Minecraft server you and you're friends are developing? how is it going? I would be interested to join in one.

Sadly, the development of the server is currently halted and I'm not sure if it'll ever continue. I think we were too ambitious for how many people were working on it...most of the map is built, but a tremendous amount of work with plugins etc would still be required, we wanted to have various questlines, players being able to join different factions with their own benefits etc...but we simply don't have time to work on that anymore, and I think we kinda lost the excitement too.

Ah, I see... I would be interested to join in and work in collaboration if they decided to ever continue.
Anyways, I suggest that maybe you could try to make vehicles in Minecraft with your style, it would really be an interesting sight to see.
