Will this be available for the FaceRig program on Steam?

I am curious to where you got the data to actually start rigging already.  I want to make my own someday, however I don't even know how to begin working with Facerig.  I have blender and I've done some 3D modeling, I just don't know how Facerig is setup.  Can't find any info on how to get one setup... then again they might end up changing things before it's released.

I've made some ridiculous rigs like this in the past, boens all over the place, but then I learned about shape keys; for facial expressions, you are REALLY saving yourself if you set shape keys instead of bones to control how the face is shaped (for minute things; the jaw should still be a bone, for example). The benefit is that you can control a shape key by a slider, as opposed to individually animating/posing each bone, and different shape keys can combine. Check it out, even starting from scratch with shape keys now would still save you a lot of time in the end

Best of luck

I agree, to my knowledge a combination of shape keys and bones is usually the best approach. Subtle things like eyelids are better left to shape keys for example, whereas a few bones for the same purpose can be tedious to animate and might not look as good.

Admittedly I haven't had much experience rigging yet, but my 3D arts instructor at the college says to use the force shape keys for facial expressions.

Damn, that's a lot for a animation. Good luck.

Don't rig the crappy model! Use the better one. It's on Krystalarchives, but it got hacked.

Calling that a crappy model is a bit of a slap in the face to those who worked hard on it. Just sayin'.

Maybe it's not identical to the in-game model, but that doesn't make it crappy.

It's still, in most ways, ugly.

I wouldn't call it crappy, it's just different from the original model. Fact is that the creator spent a considerable amount of time on it which should be appreciated.

And nothing got hacked.
