i've been sick with 2 stomach ulcers, and taking antibiotics and other meds for them, but they seem to be gone now. yay went on spring break to our cabin in the mountains, and now have been working feverishly on editing old wedding photos i shot back in 2002.

too bad i've taken so long to finish them - the couple has divorced already. in fact, so has another couple i shot photos for. i really need to get through wedding photos faster - BEFORE the couple breaks up.

and why am i working on the wedding photos? because i want to make a wedding photography website for myself - i've been hired to shoot a wedding in september in Oakland. first time being hired (the others i shot as a regular guest - not because they asked me).

und, wie geht es dir?

Was ist los mit Dir? Sorry to hear you had stomach problem, but why two ulcers, recurring? Well good they are gone. And how funny about the fact that you had not finished editing the wedding photos and the couple is already apart. I thought it was...till death do we part (or however it is said) Did you ever take photography classes? I need lessons badly, because I just point and shoot like a blind person Sometimes I am lucky, the shots are good and sometimes for crucial moments, they come out lousy

one ulcer is duodenal, the other... gastric? or peptic? two different places, and two different sets of symptoms, which is why it was hard to diagnose in the first place. i guess it's rare to have 2 different types :/

regarding the photos not being ready by the time the couple divorced, i have to admit i have a whole other set of photos to still edit, for another couple, who also have already split up :/ (they're both still facebook friends, lol) my husband and i sometimes can't believe we're still together, after 25 years, when almost all of our friends have broken up, even after kids. and we're not even religious (unlike most of them). so, we stay together because we want to, not because we feel compelled to

i have been shooting pics since i was 9 years old, and my father was a professional photographer. i became more serious about it when i was 17, but never took any classes until i was 20 - and those were all dark room techniques, not photo composition.

however, i have several friends who have taken photo classes, and joined photography clubs, and i've watched them improve immensely, within a short amount of time. with your artistic sensibility, i'm sure you'll have no problem getting the hang of it. oh, and, one of the secrets of pro photographers is hiding all their bad photos - only showing their good ones

The important thing now is you've beaten them 2, the ulcers Wow, so your dad was a pro, did you learn a lot from him? I always wanted to take a photography class, but there is so little interest here. For, twice I had wanted to enroll in such class at an adult education school and twice it was cancelled due to low enrolment

odd that there's so little interest :/ what about a photo club for beginners?

my dad gave me a great camera, lenses, and tripod, etc, when i was 17, but basically i think i learned more about composition, form and colors more from his mother, who was an artist and spent a lot of time with me, talking about art and pointing things out.

Maybe that is adult education. I always move around so I cannot take a serious university level class.
So you were influenced by both artistic worlds
