I've got no time to show you what I have read before, but here's a copy/paste of one such link...
Lotus (Nelumbo Nucifera) is the National Flower of India. On the virtue of being a sacred flower, it occupies a unique position in the art and mythology of ancient India and has been an auspicious symbol of Indian culture since time immemorial.
The lotus holds additional significance for Hindus, as it is a symbol of God and used often in religious practices. According to the popular Indian thought, there is the last and final lotus - Charan Kamal or lotus feet of the Almighty. It was this depth of thought that made the founding fathers of modern India enshrine the lotus in the Constitution as the National Flower.

This is beautiful. I try to add a little of my own insight, and I hope you don't mind. But I like it because to me the flower represents life through all it's constant changes, and the refflection in the water says that we can't get those times back. It's only hte reflection, not the actual thing, and it can be a little depressing in a way. It's a beautiful picture. =]

I just mentioned to you about my Firefox frequent crashes and it made my answer to this message of yours disappear GRRRRR!
I'll make it short now, how different did you think I do? I just knew my subject was simple and normally, I rushed but I took time with this one, making sure not to mess my edges. Well, thank you for your appreciated comment

if Firefox gives you problem, why don't you change it to another browser?
this style look like it have painted with water colors.
your other water colors paintings always look like they are done by acrilic or oil colors, because they look "thick" this piece look "thin" like water colors paintings looks.
sorry you lost the first answer mili.
