You'd be surprised just how long I've wanted to do this, and here it finally is.

Doom Patrol members as represented by individual, retro, (kind of) minimalist style posters. If ever I get DC to let me direct the Doom Patrol movie, this will be my marketing campaign. Just these, with that little movie blurb at the bottom and maybe a release date somewhere. All 7 of these babies, plastered up places.

And now a one on one explanation.

First off, Doom Patrol itself. Designed the logo myself, meant it to look like an exclamation mark. I went with orange because it felt retro somehow (I might have been watching too much Secret Saturdays).

Mento. Simple enough, that's his helmet. Went with old timey circles to look like psionic powers. In retrospect, I should have made a spiral. That would have been fantastic.

Robotman. Again, fairly straight forward, with just a simplified look at his head. I tried to make it look somewhat like a light bulb, and I think the brain inside and the silver neck worked there. I spent so much time trying to get the spirals in his brain right.

Elasti-Girl. I've had this design for a while, it just took time to get it on paper. Possibly my favorite of the bunch, as it incorporates her entire power, bob haircut, and even her original costume into one pretty simple image.

Negative Man. I think it turned out well. I had to convey his power as simply as I could, and I think the little guy sitting Indian cross legged in the black bubble with the body shooting out works nicely. Also, I think I ripped off the Teavana logo.

Beast Boy. There was just no way to do his power in a simple picture, so his is the most complicated of the bunch. Seriously, there's no way to simply convey that he can shapeshift into any animal. So I tried to keep the minimalism intact with the Bathroom Guy logo, and then turned it into an animal Vitruvian man.
