Description
as most people know already, the Metroid Fusion game consists of Samus having her body and suit fused with Metroid DNA, chainging it dramatically, in order to defeat the prey-mimicking X parasite which had previously infected and nearly killed her. now she must go through and exterminate the forms the X parasite has taken, and absorb the X parasite in its original form in order to fuel her the Metroid Suit. she's aided by the computer, with the personality of her original boss Adam Malkovich. somewhere amongst the fighting and questing and exterminating, the X parasite has created not just one, but a number of clones of Samus herself, before the Metroid Suit, so they look like her and have all her abilities from the normal suit. sounds scary? see for yourself.Related content

That looks like that would suck. That would've been cool if she had to fight more than SA-X at once. I dunno if she'd survive this situation, but at least she'd go down fighting. Yes, I've played Fusion, so I know how it is. Pretty cool.

Oh c'mon, it's Samus. Judging by some of the Ing related stuff on Echoes, she could beat multiple SA-Xes. Oh ye of little faith.

Thinking about it logically now, why would the metroids of attacked Samus during Fusion? Wasn't she now one of them and with a common enemy?

The alpha metroids in Fusion don't attack Samus. They just happen to be floating in her way. They don't even attach to your head.
The Omega Metroid I guess if it saw Samus was part Metroid, it saw her as a rival.

Good question. I assume the answer lies with the unassailable evilness of the Metroids. Some evil knows no logic. Although, the image of Fusion Samus leaping into battle flanked by legions of metroid does have a certain charm...

And I think the writers didn't take a minute to stop and think about it.
The Metroids are noted for being just dangerous without the Mother Brain to turn them into bio weapons. The X-parasites are a pandemic.
And while you don't catch me saying Metroids are poor and misunderstood, it turns out that they DO have a purpose: keeping the X-parasite from consuming all life.

I'm years late, but FYI the Metroids DON'T attack Samus in the Restricted Area. They just fly around. They don't even do damage to you (though touching them DOES knock you out of your space jump).

Well, I'm still holding on to the vain hope that a Metroid Dread will pop up out of nowhere and clear all this up for us. I still want to see the adventures of outlaw Samus.
