Metroid's one of the finest and most ambitious game series ever created in my eyes. The first two games did something not many did before on home consoles and handhelds, Super and Prime were the polished masterpieces everyone waited for, and their sequels (Fusion and Echoes - my personal favorites) portrayed the series in a darker and smarter way than ever before in many areas, even if their bold direction risked dividing the fanbase. And that's not even everything Metroid's accomplished!Shame the series is on a bit of a hiatus, then. The franchise never sold as well as it deserves; so much so that our bounty hunter may not be back anytime soon. Though with a track record like Samus', there's worse ways to end. But perhaps the galaxy is just at peace for now.
Well, as much as I'll pray for a true peace in space, I'll be praying for the return of Samus even more. See you next drawing!

That green sky is really doing it for me. In a dark, mysterious world like Metroid, you wouldn't want a blue sky, yet, if you painted the background black, you would be neglecting the cartoony, comic book style Metroid portrays. Which is why I feel the gloomy, minty green color you chose is just right.
In fact, the whole drawing does a nice job of balancing between a dark and cartoony atmosphere. The rolling fog is my favorite touch you've added. It adds the element of mysteriousness. This drawing is like something I would see printed in the pages of Nintendo Power—submitted by a reader. In other words, you did a nice job creating fanart that looks cool.
Can't think of anything to add to your sentiments about the excellent Metroid franchise. So I'll just say, long live, Samus Aran!
