Description ~Little-leopard asked me to do a quick tutorial on drawing plaits. This is a technique I learned yonks ago from an Art Attack! magazine. Those were the days!

Sorry about the appalling quality. I suck at digital art anyway, and MS Paint doesn't make it any easier.

Thanks for this too....I've tried drawing braids before sort of like you actually make them (crisscrossing chunks of hair) and I think this will be much easier, and much easier to get fine details in

You're welcome! I could never draw braids that way; my eye just got lost in all the shapes and strands.

Oh, but straight hair is so boring! I definitely recommend learning to draw curles. They're complicated but they look beautiful.
