Description
If you don't remember this line art, then you need headshrinky.Mmmkay, Shiva is not an original character. He/she/it is a Hindu god, usually depicted as dancing, charged with the destruction of the world, death, and the whole shebang. Also known as the Lord of Dance (which makes me giggle terribly; CURSE YOU RIVERDANCE FAD). Shiva is normally depicted as male; however he has been known, in folklore, to switch sexes whenever he pleases, spending a few days as a woman every so often, and can thus be safely referred to as a hermaphrodite...
Interesting story: one fine day, Shiva was walking along and spotted a bunch of youths having sex in the bushes! Oh no! These youths (all male, incidentally) panic and, not knowing that Shiva is a god, remove Shiva's manhood. But of course they realize, too late, that Shiva is, well, SHIVA, and can rain doom upon their filthy little heads. So they give him a staff to replace his missing...part. Which is why, in some depictions, Shiva seems to be carrying a large walking stick. The end.
That being said, I'm still very pleased with this lineart, despite its age, and the colour is just splendid! And look! I USED BLUE SHADOWS *0* All sing the praises of blueness!

Oh, and Shiva is actually supposed to have four arms. I'm notg gonna nt pick all the details of how he's supposed to be shown because its art and you're free to not follow it, but there are specific features to him

lmao. I have never sen Shiva depicted like this. He kind of looks like a goth. I have truly never heard that story, and I don't think my mum or grandmum would appreciate my asking them about it, but it would be quite amusing all the same.

if you think about it, Shiva would fit in among goths, what with being followed by ghosts and wearing snakes.

I love this picture. Not only for the content, but for the depiction, the pose, and the soft coloring.

SHIVA! OMG! Milo2, you are SATAN - which is, from me, even better than "you are God"! You drew Loki....and...and SHIVA. And an Anubis-ish thing =^-^= Doin' pretty damn well on the list of twisted, sexy deities =^-^= Damn, this makes me happy. Damn, he's pretty. Come here, Shiva. I promise I won't cut it off...cutting it off certainly doesn't seem like the best use for it =^-^=
I do wonder about those boys, though. One would think that if one was having a gay orgy and someone who looked like that, one would INVITE HIM IN, not CASTRATE him.
And the legend you cite is proof that the Hindus were on just as much crack as the Egyptians, Norse, and Celts, who were a helluva lot weirder even than the Greeks. Which is saying something, because mythology in general is freakin' weird.

=^_________________^= Exactly! Do you have books of it in your room? *glances around uneasily, pretending she doesn't know where hers came from*
Oh yes, it hurts more if you hit people with a stick, but creeps 'em out more if you hit 'em with your PENIS!

BWAHAHA aren't jobs great? How does it feel to get a check in the mail alllll for yourself? *hasn't gotten first paycheck yer*
Ooooh, fun! I do believe some fool or other got me hooked on Greek myths at the ripe old age of three and a half....freaked my ex-grandma (before she was my EX-grandma) out all to hell when I came up to her with a book, not of puppies and kitties, but of incestuous, jealous gods and warring city-states =^-^= She was all: *tight voice* Isn' this.....*long pause* a bit....er...VIOLENT for someone your age?" and I was like "No, I LOVE it when Herecles goes insane and kills his family!" and she.....looked at me as if I'd said something weird.....*looks around innocently*
=^_________^= bwehehehe! Any excuse to giggle maniacally works!
