Question: Did you used eraser for the holes?

milysnow In reply to Aestoria [2012-05-20 06:42:48 +0000 UTC]

I think so... I'm not a layers person, but I did separate the background with the character, so yes, I used eraser. I sort of did a hole side-tutorial thing in my other tutorial, so you can check that one out

So you make an initial lineart for orienting, but you end up making new a final lineart over the colors?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

milysnow In reply to Nuei [2012-03-12 23:40:49 +0000 UTC]

i never did a lineart. all i did was paint over the rough sketches to make it look sophisticated. depending on the style, the lines could disappear because i would paint over the entire sketch.

shade is third from the bottom, and screen is third from the top. if you click the button all the modes should show. i hope that helps

KittyKyomi [2012-03-10 15:34:22 +0000 UTC]

thats great but i notice you didnt mention what you did with the lineart. how did it go from a rough sketch to such nice neat lines?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

milysnow In reply to KittyKyomi [2012-03-11 00:04:47 +0000 UTC]

i put them all into one layer and painted over the lines. i never did a lineart, all i did is paint over the rough sketch and use the background colours to paint over the lines i don't want. this is why i start with rough thick lines, so that i can paint over them. Hope that helps
