Following the events of Jungle Fury, the barrier between dimensions weakened and crack appeared. Letting monsters and people with bad intentions bleed to our dimension. Billy Cranston noticed the crack and searched for a way to repair it. During his research he found several massive living vehicles, they called themselves Engines. The Engines had also noticed the cracks and closed most of them but they needed some help to close the last one. This crack was a link between our world (named Human-World) and a planet full of pollution named Junk-World. They managed to close the crack, trapping them in the our world but not before the Three Ministers of Pollution and their army crossed to our world. By closing the dimensional gaps, the Engines lost their ability to remain full size in the human world. They shrunk to the size of toys and were separated in two pieces. The Engine-Cast, and the Engine-Soul.

Billy worked hard and created different machines allowing the Engines to talk again while remaining in their Engine-Souls. He tried countless times to make them big again but never succeeded. One day, luck smiled, Billy cut himself with a tool and some of his blood drop on Bus-On's Soul and Cast. They both glowed and Billy following a hunch decided to put the Soul into the Cast. When he did so Bus-On grew back to his enormous size. The cipher was broken. Engines needed to bond with a human to go full size again, but it was only temporary. When the Three Ministers of Pollution started the attacks against the cities of the world. Various previous Rangers came to fight, but never succeeded. They could never completely destroy a monster. The Engines told Billy they could fight them, but they needed humans to bond with them.

Billy reunited some old friends and asked them to bond with the Engines. They discovered that each Engine chose his partner subconsciously and not all Humans could become Partners. They concentrated their efforts into finding partners for Speedor and BearWD. Jason Lee Scott and Cassie Park were the lucky ones. The six heroes (three Humans and three Engines) went to battle the monster, they won easy peasy. After the victory, Billy created Morphing devices by allowing the Engines access to the Morphing grid. Once it was done, they proceeded on finding partners for Birca and Gunpherd. Adam Park and Andros were the chosen ones.

When Speedor, Bus-on and BearWD are rusted by a monster. The rangers need the help of Carrigator to form a new Megazord. Ashley Hammond's blood react with the Engine Soul, but Carrigator is so big he needs more than one partner, they decide to test if a combination of Adam, Andros and Ashley's blood would work and it does. Carrigator is able to regain his full size and the Rangers defeat the monster. As soon as the first three Engines are back to normal, Billy start working on a way to create a new Megazord, a combination of the two existing and he finally succeed after a few failures.

The Ministers of Pollution tried hard to defeat the Rangers, but they only managed to win some battles when Earth Pollution Vice-Minister finally came to our universe using a temporary breach between the dimensions. He drove the rangers to a corner and all six of them decided to call the best ranger they knew to help them. Tommy Oliver came back. He was accompanied by his someone he had not seen in a long time, Kimberly Hart (recently married to Andrew Hartford and now going by her husband's name). While Kimberly was chosen to become Avianopter's partner, Tommy became Jetiger's. Even with the help of two new Engines, flying ones for that matter, they soon realised it's wasn't enough. They needed the help the last Engine trapped on Earth. Jumbo-Whale. Considering his size and type the rangers guessed Jumbo-Whale would react to a mix of three different blood like Carrigator. Since they already had Tommy and Kimberly, they only needed a ninth ranger. Following his instinct, Tommy called his wife, Katherine and asked for her help. He was right, she was the third Partner they needed to awake Jumbo-Whale's powers.

When the Ministers tried to bring back to life one of their ancestor (Pollutionderthal) who came to Earth billions of years ago only to be stopped by Engines from his time. The Engine Warrior Rangers searched for help. They consulted their Partners on the myths of their world and finally were able to awake the Dino Engines. They had a mind of their own, and they did not need a blood contract with one particular Human to go full size. But they still needed someone to operate them when they formed the Fossil Megazord. They chose Jason.

After the destruction of Pollutionderthal, Earth Pollution Minister found a way to incorporate parts of him into his body. He injured Jason very badly in a one on one fight and stole the Change souls of the team. Determined to save their friend's life, the remaining Engine Warriors attacked him and battled his giant form without their protective armors. They took a lot of damage, but they manage to injure him enough to climb inside his body and get the Change souls back. They combined their powers and they destroyed the parts belonging to Pollutionderthal. They revived the fossilized humans and Jason recovered, he challenged the Earth Pollution Minister on a new one on one match and finally killed him.

With the death of one of them, the Air Pollution Minister and the Water Pollution Minister resolved to a desperate move, they cried for help and asked the Pollution Overlord to come out of hibernation and help them. No need to say that he was not happy to be woken up and find the world still inhabited by humans. To worsen things, his only son was dead, destroyed by Jason. The strength of the Pollution Overlord was so great the Rangers couldn't do a thing. He locked his adversaries in a pocket dimension one by one, Engines and Humans alike. Once only Jason, Billy and Cassie were left with their Engines the real battle for survival began.

Billy, with his ingenious intellect, finally managed to find the villains hideout and the power source of the pocket dimension. Launching a kamikaze attack on the base, the three Rangers fought for one last hope to save the world. It was hard but they finally stopped the machines and defeated the overlord.

It was time for the Engines to go back to their world. With the Air and Water pollution Minister in custody they returned to Machine world and closed the dimensional cracks for good. But not without saying one last good bye to the courageous human warriors that helped them in their year long battle.
