it never freaked me out.. maybe because i only have it for my 3ds or because i knew of it before..
one of my friends is the same , no even worse ,... she didn't even want to try playing the game once she knew of it O-o'

still freaks me out everytime I play
I think the original more so cuz it was glitchy

i've never got to play the original .. actually i've never got to play any console game before i got the original xbox long time after it's time was over ( the xbox 360 was out )
