I spent much of my Friday night doodling and here is a page I did with various facial expressions for Shi'an, a Togruta Jedi character I have for Star Wars RPG. I'm very happy with the face paint she has since Togruta do not have eyebrows and without em it's much harder to show facial expressions. Given her underdeveloped verbal communication skills her face will have to do much of the talking for her. It was fun to experiment with her expressions, especially now that I have a facial design that I like for her.Star Wars, Togruta, Jedi, etc property of George Lucas and SW RPG property of Wizards of the Coast.

Thanks. It took a while to get her design looking cute but I really like how it turned out. She was heading for Force Adept rather than Jedi Knight so I never decided on a lightsaber form for her. I think she's lack the civilization for one anyways. In combat she usually relied on speed, stealth, and guile to pick off targets on reach them before they could start shooting and once in combat she used a lot of force powers to fortify her body. So I guess she was a fast, stealthy, tank. But the trade off was that outside of combat she may as well have been a big cat that could parrot random words and phrases in galactic. I suppose if she were properly trained she'd probably fight like Starkiller or Ventress, an aggressive stance with a lot of telekinesis and movement.

I don't know. I think if anything she'd probably end up an unremarkable Shii-Cho practitioner with touches of other styles. She's intuitive but was trained later starting around puberty rather than early childhood by an old Jedi master in hiding who noticed the outcast's potential. She's more of a catlike hunter in mindset than a Jedi. As a character I occasionally played when somebody else would volunteer to DM or when we were short players she was being trained by a young Jedi who had not entirely completed his apprenticeship when his master was killed in Order 66. She had learned to use the force more like an adept or a force witch to help her take down large prey on her homeworld. The Jedi master was probably more interested in training somebody who could help him protect himself in his old age than to make a fully fledged padawan. If she had had proper training I would imagine she's have primarily trained in Ataru and Shien.

Thanks. Initially her lack of eyebrows, irises, and sclera made it hard to do expressions but eventually I figured work arounds by looking at what various cartoonists did. Sometimes you just gotta borrow.

That's cool man. I like the overall design of the character. Alien enough to be intriguiging but not so much so as to be unrelatable.
