This is a very striking image. The viewer really can get lost in the detail of landscapes within landscapes. I like how you have the water swirling around the city, cutting it off from nature, with the exception of the more warped barren landscape that’s coming out of the blackened water. It’s also nice how the colors are bright but not overly saturated. The first thing that caught my eye was the desert, then I was focused on the city, and then I noticed the lonely house on the hillside. You made very good use of warm and cool colors to draw the eye from the reds and yellows of the wasteland to bright parts of the cityscape, like the red buildings and metallic egg.Β

Thank you for providing a link to your journal entry. I’m new to seeing your project and being able to view your process and the different versions of this drawing makes me appreciate it at a deeper level. Each image along the process has a different visual feel, with the dark final image most strikingly different to this one. It has a very gritty atmosphere, and the sky behind (though beautiful) is very ominous and still. The sky here is more whimsical and gives a sense of motion to the background.

I really don’t see much to critique here. The only thing that’s nagging at me are the brown spheres in the far right corner. I’m not quite sure what they are supposed to be, and they are the only part of the piece that look distinctly digital. The rest of the image looks very similar to an acrylic painting.

Thank you kindly for such a great perspective It was great to hear from you and I will have to give it one last touch up before I get it printed. I know what you mean about the brown spheres I'll have to get rid of them as they are out of place Cheers

Holy cow this is honestly really awsome! For some reason this reminds me of Salvador Dali's the big sleep wichnis honestly awsome and I love that vibe that it does give off. Quite cool indeed! As for the inner city bit, it's pretty cool on its own just the waynidk presented in a slightly dulled but mesmerizing pallet is really quite neat! Plus the fact that it just seems to float there is honestl pretty neat! As for the background, I do like how you did the cliff side and glass textures as well it is honestly quite pretty and ties in nicely to the overall feel that this peice has given off to me so far, so overall nice job. This is quite cool to look at indeed!

Thank you very much, I'm glad you an see the connection. I am inspired by Dali's vision in his art so it is cool to hear there is a flicker of his style in my work. Great to hear from you

From the link you've added, I have to say I prefer this version than the other, that was too grim-looking, this is more dreamy. The shape looks like the viewer is using a giant looking glass on a fantasy landscape

True: one can think of alternatives, but thinking of them on the first try is something innate

I remember the previous version of this. I need to explore it again I see how you are very satisfied with this. Is also my favourite version. It has a feel of speed very cool.
