She's really putting on the show. The UP really works their steam. Nice shot.

I take it this is No 3985?
Challengers are amazing beasts, secondly only to big boys!
Great shot!

Yep that is the challenger. With all the Big Boys retired, she is second to none! Thanks!

It's ok.
I would love to see her or even a big boy in steam.
Don't think that will happen though.
England is a bit far for them to venture!

Classic shot! And that's quite the load she's pulling there.

Thanks! But That is all she has pulled since she was restored to running condition in 1982.

I did not know that. When she was here in Omaha she was only pulling a couple of cars.

That must have been a total experience (sight , sound and smell) . You're a lucky man .

Oh man, it is always the most amazing experience when she steams through here. this is the first time in a good 5 or 6 years so, she really was a sight for sore eyes. If you ever manage to be in this area, I would suggest stopping in Cheyenne and seeing them and the shop where they keep them.

Wow. Did you follow this train all day?
250 miles away... that would put this shot in the Rock Springs / Green River area and right in your backyard, wouldn't it?

I did follow it a good part of the morning. When she was headed west. I was there when she steamed into town, and then the next morning, I chased her to Green River, and then about 10 mile past GR. And then about a month later, when she was headed back east, I didn't get to see her steam in as it was my girlfriends birthday, but I did get there about sunrise and ended up chasing her about 10 miles to the east.
