I've had this imaginary girl stuck in my head for a week, like an addictive song . So I said to her "you don't belong in here, dear. Please get out of my head and onto my screen." Apparently, she was reluctant, because it took a lot of effort to get her on the page.I used Opencanvas to sketch this and to set up the basic lighting and color scheme. And then I had some trouble figuring out how the light would hit near her eyes, so I looked up some b&w photos of Christina Aguilera and Adriana Lima to help with that area. I used Painter 7 to refine the skintones and Photoshop for most of the detailing.

It's interesting how people don't know if she's hangry/sad/sad-hangry. I'd say sad.
It seems like the more you draw portrait, the more you catch little details that most people don't. I wonder if you'll ever stop to improve. I mean, imagine what your talent will be at ... 50 years old

omg. this immediately reminded me of this episode of darkangel, where one of those biologically enhanced chicks was put in a tube thing, filled with green neon water, and yep... end of story, and such an exciting one it was...ahem...

I'm in love with the lighting you've used on this. It truly showcases your talent. The detailing you spent on her eyes is amazing. I love the eye shadow. And the colors you put into the lipstick are cool too. The emotion you put on her face is interesting, I can't tell if she's furious or ready to break down; or is it both? Excellent work Minix.

beautiful... she has stuck her face in water, and we are the water. the emotion in her eyes is outstanding, and her lips are beautiful. i love the way you have color coordinated her make-up, and her eyes, and the overall glow. as with everything else, great job on the hair.

Her eyes is beautiful.. you did a great job on the lightning aspect.. one thing that bugged me is her lower lips which seems to look too thick my liking though.. oww.. but that's me hehe.. well done, hope she won't bugged u anymore.

This looks really beautiful, your lucky you can transfer an image from your head to a paper...i cant...only a kinda look alike, anyway, this is a wonderful picture, the colors and shading/blending is amazingly incredible and the style is outstandingly exellent!!!!! Beautifully done, minix, dear! The moment I saw this image in devwatch I thought to myself, it's Opencanvas and Painter. Then I saw the thumb and the wisps of curly strands of hair and I knew Photoshop.

I think she looks at to be on the verge of tears, driven by a state of anger.
Not that she's a weak character - she looks very strong in trying to hold back those tears.

This are the most detailed eyes i have seen you draw so far, amazing level of detail and the green around them fits perfectly. The skin tones are to die for, just lovely. But, the best thing about this piece are the highlights, oh my gosh, its makes the piece pop right out of my screen, superp work on that.
My only gripe is her lower lip sortta out of propotion with the rest of the piece.

very nicely done minix, the details aroud the eyes are excellent, help bring out the emotion. You should look at trying to get a better continuetion between the face and the hair, the greenness is a bit of a throw. Also perhaps rethink that bottom lip, the space above the shine line looks too large.
