Thanks to *iony for the inspiration for the color scheme.I did this mostly in opencanvas, and then finished it in Painter 7. I was playing in oc, and it worked out to be more than just a doodle. I like how the skintones turned out with the greenish lighting.

Haven't commented you in a while, and this certainly has its share...
But jeez, this is primo... Even for you, it seems like a cut above (which is, of course, really saying something!)
Ironically, her face reminds me of one of my models, but I'll get back to that...
It's so delicious as a whole - the strong vertical right falling leftward into doubt. And it's a sweet contrast that drives the image - the hair is actually quite in a similar hue zone to the face, so she has a big bright unity against the background.
And then there are your fabulous details. Your best hair ever, the shadows of her strands, the lush of her lip, the lower rim of her eye... And rather than the big stray strand, I was drawn to the smaller one to the left among her hair... Though the big strand is awesome, no doubt... Gotta love her shimmer to the left of her too..
But most of all, your real gift (beneath all the hard work you put into these) is your knack for expression. This is as charismatic an image as you've ever done, and a big part of that is because we feel her own vague sense of unease and trepidation... and we intuitively CARE... She is looking over her shoulder at a concern she can't completely ignore, and it's our human reaction to be drawn to her. (The childlike eye reinforces this, of course...)
Your paintings are so aesthetically pleasing that it's easy to take them at face value (at least cognitively), but your real secret is drawing real people - they breathe and feel, and there's a strong sense that you at least, if not us, KNOW them. And it shines through from beneath even in so fabulous an aesthetic as this.
It's your gift that makes your art more than merely craft.

I must say, there's not a thing I can find wrong with it. The colors are stunning, as is the angle and face structure....those lips are absolutely beautiful, as is this whole piece! This definitely deserves the attention it is getting. Wonderful!

the green seem to compliment the pink the way it would red
and it seems to push the pinks forward
the girls face is cute and has a cyber punk feel to her
which is powered along by the green( simolteanous(sp) contrast)
