Description
Finally, I uploaded this one here too, now you guys won't have to dig through my webpage for it anymore. Of course, ifyou find the layout irritating or difficult, then you can still use the one over there instead. It's basically the exact same thing , but without the fancy, dark framing device.Even if I use PhotoshopCS4 myself, the tutorial is not program-specific (as my tutorials never are) and all you really need is a round paint brush with adjustable opacity-levels, a couple of layers and optionally some sort of smudge brush.
It is exected that you are at least somewhat familiar with whatever program you're using, as there's no "and this is how you make a new layer"-type of advice in the tutorial. That would kind of nullify the non-program-specific thing I've got going on here.
But hey, have fun!
~
Man, I've fallen in love with that font, Century Gothic. It's so...round and geometrical. Not the easiest to read, but sooo pretty.

This is a great tutorial, easy to follow and I learned about drawing water, techniques I'd never thought of before. Usually, I just struggle with a reference, but this is great. I honestly wouldn't change a thing.

None of the example images are part of any "real" paintings, I made them specifically for this tutorial. So those small rectangles are all there is to see, really. ^_^

I don't draw nearly enough water. While I'm no painter, I think there's still a lot to be learned from this. Nicely done.

I spend a fair amount of time biking in the rain, while wearing a powerful head lamp, and I have noticed that rain does not fall straight.
The majority of it does, but there are always particles that are taking different angles, up to about 30 degrees. These are typically smaller than the normal rain drops.
If its windy too, you can get some serious sheeting coming off trees. drops of water off of trees are generally a lot bigger that rain from the sky.
nice tutorial though.
