Description
I think I'll make my next tutorial a walkthough of a picture for a change. Oh, and the fur-tutorial is still suspended, due to my lack of skill.Note: The tutorial is made in Paint Shop Pro, but it should work for the most with other programs too.

Quick question: How long does it usually take for you to draw a background? I would've imagined them to be extremely time consuming since there's so much detail involved, which is why I usually use my own stocks but I /may/ start drawing backgrounds myself

Thank you! I've been having trouble with texture for ages! All the other tutorials included custom brushes, which I'm not overly fond of either.Β

Beautifully demonstrated...so much so that I was able to recapture the techniques ( with time & patience) using simple tools, graphite and colored pencil Β Thanks so much for making this tut available!

Oo, I like! I may try your approach and do my basic shading before my linework and advanced shading.

Sorry for asking but when you talk about semi-transparent brushes, do you mean we have to reduce their opacity?
