Description
my desktop on my desktop.updated the image. The two A4 'books' on the left are a printout of my thesis so far - 356 pages at the time (it's about 380 now). Nearly every page has red scrawl over it.
no water bottle any more either, so half the current comments aren't going to make sense any more

. A tea mug, actually.
I don't drink coffee - I'm English. Well, I was originally.

I think I'm going to have to update this shot, without the water bottle (which of course was thrown out long ago)

haha. in the winter i like hot water with a couple slices of lemon squeezed in.. not weird or anything.. but if you ask for a cup of water at a restaurant and then request a few lemon slices come along with it- you get looks. i dont know why. Wards away scurvy.

Harhar, usually in these shots, the desks are perfectly clean and neat.
I like seeing one that looks more like mine ;B.
Neato water bottle!

An organised clutter, the same with my desk. And I see you have your cup of tea ready.
Endnote!! Argh... I still prefer to use manual referencing...

tea is important!
I think I'd finished that one.
I have over 300 references. My wife has over 1000. We couldn't cope without Endnote And it's free at Deakin and gets upgraded pretty much every year.

Black or green or chinese? I found I have quite a craving for Chai ever since we met that day.
I guess so. I haven't got to that stage yet, although I am not really looking forward to it. Monash gets it free too but it is so laden with bugs that most of us just shrug it off as useless despite lecturers and tutors praising it to the high heavens.

I like all three, though black tea is my preference.
I've never yet had an issue with Endnote, I have to say. I don't try downloading references or anything like that - I write in all my own references. But I use it with Word and so far it hasn't given me any serious problems. lucky me i suppose

it's not too bad. no aircon though which is a nightmare in summer. we have portable heating for winter, and I'll be buying another this winter too.

Same here. No AC although for some mysterious reason July was the hideous hot sweltering month and August has been pretty steady between "nice" and "chilly." Winter was really bad and I'm hoping to manage to get a couple of electric blankets before it really hits. One for the bed and one to put on the chair at my desk and wrap up in when it gets too bad.

I can't remember why I had pinball up on my desktop must have been doing some vague form of stress relief. hehe.
I bought the bottle at Beijing West train station. It'll be chucked out fairly soon...

you know what my city looks like?
now I have a digital camera, there'll be some more shots of the campus and the places I live and work. Not necessarily here, but if I think of it, I'll drop you a link

I had to think about that for a moment. Shows how much attention I was paying. It also shows that you looked at it fullsize
yeah - I was writing some notes on the subject. Well, conversation snippets really. Eventually a story will work its way around them. probably.
isn't it odd how IDs appear in your 'recent deviations' but desktops don't. I assumed that desktops wouldn't make it round all my watchers. evidently I was wrong.

Wait, your desktop image didn't show up in your recent devs? Mine always have . . . but then again, the last desktop image I submitted was almost a year ago.
Hmm. A story about grief, huh? Sounds groovy. Would it be horror like Clive Barker's "Dread?"
Anyway, it's good to see you're back. I have a feeling you have a lot of catching up to do.

no idea what the story will cover. probably not horror though. I don't think I'd be very good at it.
and yeah. lots of catching up to do. sigh.

You should give horror a try if you haven't before. At least to say you wrote one quintessential horror story.

You should take a new picture of the computer while using this background on the screen.

yeah - that did occur to me. but unless I take it from the same angle, it won't be the same picture. I'd need a tripod to do it properly.
