Description Here's my WIP stallion rig for Dinky's Destiny, as it's still in progress, there are still a lot of things missing in it but I will continue to update it regularly.

Note:Β Playerdotexe is my former username

Feature list:
- Full 360 angles (18 angles, single front view and back 3/4 and back 5/8).Β
- Low symbol count (59, compared to the DRB puppets having around 240)
- You won't get an error message asking to download a font you don't have on your computer. (The font itself is Museo Sans 500 and 300)
- Spinning horn (Not show-accurate, but it can be disabled if you need).
- Bent cutie marks.
- Wing cycles
- Not a single DHX asset in it, you can trust me on that.

I mean, what tool in Flash, brush tool, line tool, anchor point tool?

brush and anchor

MintyRoot In reply to ChristyPony [2015-02-13 03:45:02 +0000 UTC]

Never use the brush tool for a puppet. Most animators I know use the subselection tool and the line tool to vectorize pieces of the puppets.

Hey, I am planning to do a My Little Pony animation project and I was woundering if it would be ok if I can use your puppet in my animations?Β  I would of course credit you in my project.

Of course, but make sure to credit Jpra1396, TiredBrony and Henpemaz for the rigs too.

I'm looking at the puppet, and I don't get what the Mane_mask layers are for. And on a similar note, is the mane supposed to go in the masked Mane layer or a new layer?
(Sorry, I'm really noob at animation... I'm hoping the project that I'm working on will help me get better at using Flash.)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MintyRoot In reply to Exovare [2015-01-04 00:15:04 +0000 UTC]

Oh, the Mane_mask is to have the mane behind the ear, but over the eyes, while keeping the ear behind the eyes. Normally other rigs split the mane in two parts, but I decided to simplify it on mine with the mask.

Can i use v0.5 on Flash 6?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MintyRoot In reply to TechBrony [2014-12-15 22:39:37 +0000 UTC]

The lowest version supported is Flash 8, unless you mean CS6, there you shouldn't have any problem opening it.

DKSRShadowDancer In reply to ??? [2014-10-09 15:16:59 +0000 UTC]

how did you do that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MintyRoot In reply to DKSRShadowDancer [2014-10-09 21:01:12 +0000 UTC]

Here's the video covering how it was done.Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxB8YW…
There's also the slower paced one where I cover the same thing, but I do it at real speed and I comment a bit on it.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gGbis…

So in short I gathered a clean reference of a front, 3Q, profile, back 3Q and back view and made a clean turn with them, then I vectored all the individual parts and put them all in symbols of the same type.

JPra1396 did the rest of the assets here, but it's done by gathering more mouth, eye and wing references and vectoring them as well.

Any advice on puppet rigging? i only started on the skull and im getting frustrated with how non-semetrical it is. @_@

MintyRoot In reply to Rozanslash [2014-10-08 21:35:31 +0000 UTC]

Have you seen this video of mine?Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxB8YW…

I'd recommend to start with the 5 angles base (Front, 3Q, profile, back 3Q and back), to make one side then to mirror it when it's complete. You should also start with the body base as it's the center of rotation of the character, so this way you will have something more constant while animating it.

Evilbob0 In reply to ??? [2014-10-08 01:04:34 +0000 UTC]

...
The puppet's beautiful! The only complaint I have is that it seems to be missing the hidden ear... which isn't strictly necessary when a mane is added... but yeah...

Also. I'm assuming that since it's not yet "v.1.0" that it's still a WIP?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MintyRoot In reply to Evilbob0 [2014-10-08 01:13:28 +0000 UTC]

It's a bit complex, but the release number is related to the project, this stays at 0. until the release of the first part of Dinky's Destiny, then it will go to 1. for the second one.

After Drawing the lines using the line tool, do you convert to shapes to create the points on the ends?
