Description So I finally got around to doing this. Note that I didn't even really follow the template of the meme, because I had a lot of influences (including a few that didn't make it on there).

Actually when this first started flying around DA, I wanted to make one really bad but I was busy and I had no idea who to put down as influences. xD But after seeing a few others, I got a general idea.

Also, I tried including relatively recent influences, since these are what I aspire to be like. But I can't forget some of my roots either lol.

If you can't tell, I like artists who use bright colors haha. Also made it green because that's my favorite color and there was a dearth of green on this map. C=

UHH. I feel lazy, but I'll explain it~

Pokemon: Well, this one is obvious. I chose a game art because...I've been following the games more than the anime for a while now (but I'm liking what I see in Best Wishes) and because Pokemon Blue was the first video game I willingly played. I was always scared of dying in video games for some reason lol. But sending out monsters to die for you was a-okay! Overall, I've always been a loyal fan of the games; I've been following them from the beginning and I'm sure I'll continue following them in the future.

Powerpuff Girls: Well, this is awkward lol. Mostly because this influence is probably not apparent in my gallery. Or maybe it is. Either way, I loved (understatement) these three when I was little. I was always drawing them. ALL THE TIME. Before anime came along and took over my style, or maybe even while anime was in my life (lolSailorMoonlol) these three were my idols. It was very apparent with my room decor, ahaha...

*Kaze-Hime : At first, I wasn't planning on including her, but then when I was running out of ideas lol, I started browsing some of the earliest people I watched, and realized...that I really had been subtly influenced by Kaze-Hime for almost the entire time I've been on DA. I've used her tutorials (hell, those leaves on the meme are made through her petals tut), I've been inspired by her beautiful art, and I've noticed that my style has strayed slightly (and only slightly lol, she's just that amazing) toward mimicking hers. Thanks for being such a good influence Holly!

*Lavender-Ice : Lav is another person I've followed for years on DA. At first mostly for Pokemon things lol. But even after she strayed away from Pokemon, she continued to produce art that was great and, amazingly for someone who was already at her level, improved more than where she was at originally. Pretty much proof that artists can still change and grow even when you think they can't be more astounding than they already are.

mugime/ochappa: OK, so she was a pixiv artist. WHO DELETED HER ACCOUNT. ;_; But I found her new one here . I am deeply influenced by what I've seen. I think my art shifted radically toward imitating her art after seeing it. Hands down my favorite Pokeshipping artist, by far. I guess by extension you could include my earlier Pokeshippy influences in here, like TeppoPepper, Miyabic, and XRuka lol...

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu: Gotta say, 2006 was THE year for anime in the 2000s. And my consistent favorite out of them was Haruhi Suzumiya. Gorgeous animation (that I again tried to imitate lol), wonderful soundtrack, a plot that was so irrevocably crazy it worked, and memorable characters, it is still one of the best recent anime produced (in my opinion). Can't wait for the movie to sell in North America.

Kannagi: Although I love Kannagi to bits, I can't really say it made me do a 180 on art like Haruhi. It was still a great influence on me though. I think after I watched Kannagi...somehow, I think it made me lighten up as a person. I can't explain it. But between my junior year of high school (notably my happiest year), I changed my world point from miserable and self-deprecating to a more positive one, and I think I have Kannagi to thank for that (and maybe ToraDora and Ga-Rei Zero).

~Cezaria : Sadly I only discovered Cezaria a little over a year ago. But she probably is the one responsible for making me grow to love and appreciate the Pokemon games even more. She definitely got me to like Kotone more (though her head-canon of Kotone and mine don't quite match up lol) and made up some amusing head-canon to go with her pictures. Lol, she's into Inazuma11 now but her art and fascination with it makes me wanna try it (someday).

Music: Put a picture of Mio from K-On and her bass just because. (And also because I might have been influenced by K-On somehow...) But all I need when I'm in a rut IN ANYTHING IN LIFE, the right music helps to get me through. K-On is known (kinda) for its music, but I'm also applying it to modern American stuff as well. I'm noticeably not biased against certain types of music anymore. Still can't like Blue-Grass though haha.

CLAMP: YES, I ADMIT IT. I'm a bit ashamed of it now to be honest... But CCS was the first manga I ever owned. EVER. And I was just fascinated with CLAMP's pretty drawings. They were the reason for my stringy hair . But I liked mostly their older stuff. Now they draw their people too thin and noodle-like. D=

Jikei: Another pixiv artist! I really admire Jikei's art. And though I love pretty much every artist on Pixiv, something keeps drawing me back to Jikei's art. It's insanely beautiful and the colors blend and mesh so well together. Just...absolute respect for you, Jikei.

*KL-chan : I swear to God, KL holds out and hoards a lot of her stuff on Pixiv lol. But her art is just so nice to look at, fluid and full of motion. Her doodles put me to shame '''OTL And she can put so much into her pictures! A master of color, and a great artist who can create truly charged pictures.

Kantoku: Lol, half of his stuff isn't work safe lol. BUT I honestly love browsing his website (first discovered it in 2007). He is probably my all-time favorite artist and the biggest influence/aspiration for my work. The picture that I put in this map is rather old and doesn't really do him justice, but rather a personal favorite of mine. His newer works are phenomenal. No, seriously, it is almost ungodly how well he draws . His characters are always so full and full of life; every single one of his pictures is like that. ALL OF THEM. No slip in amazing, consistent quality? There is just no limit to how much I adore his art.

Hibiki Mio: Basically my favorite Higurashi/Umineko artist lol. (Mostly for KeiRena at first, but then I just appreciated her art.) I really liked how she did her hair, so again, I tried mimicking it at times. And again, it was amazing to see her grow as an artist over the years. This picture is one of her most recent and most beautiful.

tama (songe): More pixiv artists! (Last one, I swear~!) She goes by tama now but I think she used to use songe, so yeah. BUT, her art is absolutely amazing. (She even did the picture directly below her own personal block, lol). Tama's style is modern, simple, and absolutely effective. I love looking at her art, and it's definitely a style I look up to.

~1-kilometer : She has too many nicknames lol (Mop? Raemz? Weee?). I used the one from her blog and pixiv. Can you believe she's just 17? REALLY? She's one of the artists for the Internet-popular Katawa Shoujo. And even if she calls herself a "lazy artist", doing CGs for an ongoing project takes some dedication. She also draws Pokemon things which make me smile. And her sense of humor is on my wavelength; I always end up laughing at her comics. Amazing person, fer sure.

VOCALOID: This one is a bit new, but I think I've been into Vocaloid for about a year now? Or maybe a bit more? Something like that. But I DID NOT use Miku Hatsune for the picture because honestly, I didn't like most of her songs, and that's what kept me away from Vocaloid fandom for a long time, which I am now pissed about. It was only after listening to Kagamine songs that I started to like it, and the Luka and GUMI songs pretty much confirmed my status as a fan of Vocaloid. I'm excited for the songs that can/will be produced with the Kagamines' Append voice banks. *_*

BAH, gotta study, but I keep putting it off... >>;; The more worried I am the more I procrastinate. VICIOUS CYCLE VICIOUS CYCLE.

Don't worry, I've planned out the rest of my week studying. With PEOPLE this time so I can't get distracted.

K'Bye~

I pulled it from Bulbapedia, but yeah, the works that Ken Sugimori does for the game art are really stunning.

Lol that's cool. I do like them together myself but I'm not opposed to other pairings (I love seeing Len with Gumi, btw). It's just a matter of the song/situation that causes Len and Rin to be put together most often.

I don't think I've seen much of mugime's Pokeshippy art unfortunately. Will definitely do some research. Personally, I have to say that my fave (Japanese) Pokeshipping artist is Teppo, hands down.

I remember Teppo was around for a really long time drawing lol. I definitely took some of her color choices for a while, but then I started getting tired of how dull my pictures turned out. Only she can pull it off, fer sure.

Mugime is a bit hard to find, but there's traces of her art on the web (maybe that's why she deleted her account haha).

It's probably safe to say that many people have been influenced by Haruhi considering how popular it is lol.

I love these artists so much. Maybe I should have made an entire separate block for Pixiv though...
