You really didn't want to go through with this, but you had to. You had no choice. Everything you'd done for the past few months had prepared you for this moment. There was no way you could back out, this was inevitable, and there were no words that could accurately describe how much you absolutely hated this time of year.

“But Levi,” you whined, stretching yourself out on the couch, “it's been three hours. How can you study for this long without any breaks?”

Your boyfriend continued to leaf through his notes, not sparing you a glance from his spot at his desk. “I have a biology exam tomorrow, you know that.”

“It isn't even noon yet. You’ve barely even had breakfast,” you pointed out. “You're lucky I slept over last night or you wouldn't have even had your two slices of toast at like, 7:30. That was forever ago. You need to eat.”

Levi sighed. “At least I’m actually trying to study. You’ve been sitting on your ass all morning, and you have that calculus exam tomorrow.”

“I need to have a completely relaxed mind when I study.” You huffed. “I don't wake up at 6 AM on a Sunday and immediately throw myself onto my notes like you do.”

You couldn't see his face, but you were certain his brow twitched. “What are you getting at?” He asked, shutting his eyes and gritting his teeth. It was clear he was starting to get annoyed.

A small smile appeared on your face as you swung your legs off the couch and stood with a quiet grunt. Levi didn't notice the movement until your hands were on his shoulders and you pressed your cheek to his. “What I’m saying is you're stressed out. If you don't take a break for a while, soon you won't be able to think straight, and you have to focus to study. I worry for you sometimes, you know.”

Levi turned to you, grey orbs boring into yours. You simply smiled at him, silently hoping he would agree. Seeing him stressed to the point of burning out wasn't your favourite thing in the world, after all. Your smile faltered when you saw the slight smirk on his face.

“One more unit.”

“No! No more notes for an hour.”

Levi chuckled. “Why not? I want to do well on this exam.”

“Don't you have, like, a 94 or something?” You glared at him playfully. “You probably don't even have to study that much.”

“I don't, but I have to be sure that I know exactly what I'm doing.”

“When do you ever not know what you're doing?” You sighed. “We’re getting off track. Take an hour break. No. Notes.”

It was his turn to sigh. “On one condition.”

“Hmm?”

“You quiz me afterwards.”

You frowned. “You just want to laugh at me mispronouncing words, don't you.”

“So what if I do?” Levi leaned back against his chair, crossing his arms.

A smile graced your lips as your hand came up to cup his cheek. “You're a jerk,” you said, capturing his lips in a short, sweet kiss. “But fine, I’ll quiz you. Only because I love you so much.”

“It's a deal, then.” Levi stood and took your hand in his, pulling you up. “Let's get started.”

“Started with what?” You blinked. “Are we going out?”

“No, we’re cleaning.”
