Yes it is time for another Samus picture, and playing The Other M may have influenced this decision more than I realize.Instead of going the honeycomb-patterned route or instead of piecing armor on like robot transformations, I felt like Samus' power suit should appear in wisps of smoke. I am definitely satisfied with this choice. Enjoy.

I like to imagine her armor sort of "grows" out of her Zero Suit, or whatever she wears underneath the Power Suit (I think the Zero Suit is kind of silly). I picture some kind of...melting effect.

Actually the suit is removed and applied in a similar fashion, it's supposed to merge biologically with Samus so if you take a good look at it... The suit is not accurate to human anatomy but only anthropomorphic. It's impossible for a normal human to wear it unless your organs in the waist are tiny and your arms are separate from your body lol.
Apparently, Nintendo wanted to give it a "robot" look, but for that they had to sacrifice a lot of the human part.

You make a good point. I guess the only way of actually going about it would be to imitate the Terran marine suits. And even then Samus would be 8-9 feet tall.

Well, she is already 6'3"...
I remember reading somewhere that her suit is molded both physically and mentally to her, which explains why she can take it off // put it on without even moving, and backs up the aforementioned theory as to why she has tiny shoulders but wears a suit with huge shoulder pads. And have you seen her hips? No way she can fit into that tiny suit. xD
The part in Other M where she put on her armour was pretty awesome, tho.

Definitely a unique approach to her transformation. I'm really liking the wisps of smoke, very cool.
