Description
I've been wanting to do a tee shirt with dragon wings printed on the back for YEARS. Figured now's as good a time as any to get around to it, but I need some help deciding what to go with. So here are some thumbnails.A. More bat-like and opened upward.
B. Long fingered and folded in. (might make the tips crisscross in the final)
C. Arched inward.
D. Stylized and less realistic.

PLEASE GO HERE TO VOTE: Voting's closed! Thank you all for your valuable input. A lot of you voiced some really good idea's and concerns that I hadn't even thought of. You gave me a lot to think about. Because of this, I might not end up going with the top voted design as it is... I'm considering going with C's general shape in a stylized way, like D. I hope you'll be pleased when I upload the final design. Thank you again.

If you wanna help me figure out how to silk screen that, it's certainly not a bad idea. XD A few people have suggested extending the design to the sleeves.

I like the more stylization of "D" personally but I like the inward arching position of C

D would make a good t-shirt design for what you want to do in my opinion...

I Like C but I have a feeling due to the shape you'd have to print it quite small onto your T and you may loose the effect somewhat (if the effect is to look like a little pair of wings on your back) Same issue might be with A, although they would be bigger, it'll look like they are sprouting from the small of your back rather than your shoulders. Maybe actually place the designs on a picture of someone wearing a T and decision from there

I like A and D -- I like the design of A, but depending on how large they are printed, the shoulder might end up in a weird place ... D could have the same issue, but since it's a little more wide than tall, not so much, and I like the idea of them being abstract wings, since, you know, it's sort of an abstract idea. I hope you'll make these available somewhere?

I like A the most because the other two realistic ones remind me of those angel wings that so many tattoo on their back. The stylized looks nice too.

I really like the stylized but the folded might make more sense, considering the relatively small space you have to work with on a shirt.

C Is the most classic one, if you're looking for that. I like D too alot, perhaps if you'd extend the girls into fingers?

D is the most graphically pleasing for all audiences. I find the actual dragon arms rather unattractive, while artistically they are great.

A or C, though they are extremely similar... personally, i can see C opening upwards, too XD

I would go with A but with the front (top) areas spread further apart. Sometimes the wings make the dragon and you want them to be imposing.

A or D. B is right out because it's not immediately recognizable as wings. It's "hard to read" right off the bat and what you want is something that is stylin' and reads quickly when people get a glance at it from any distance. C has similar issues, but mostly because they are too wide design wise. They'd not look as clean on a t-shirt since they're more horizontal. A and D are great because they read quickly as wings and from any size at any distance. They're more vertical, which would look good on a t-shirt since shirts are a more vertical medium, as are peoples backs. To me it comes down to Which do you want to do- something more stylized or more realistic. Then you have your pick. ^^
Those are my thoughts on it anyhow.
