Description I've wanted to do this for a while. I've thought long and hard and forced myself to narrow it down to only 30 things. I tried to arrange them in chronological order with most recent at the bottom. My art is influenced by emotions, colours, observations, shapes, and meaningful symbolism.
From left to right, top to bottom:

1) + 2) When I was in middle school and high school, I had a crush on Trunks from Dragonball Z and Kai from Beyblade and one day I saw some fanart on a Kai shrine online (by a girl named Juri) and I decided I wanted to try too. Back then it was a "whoever draws the character best, owns them" attitude. Thus my art life was born.
3) A while later, I discovered Akane K.'s art blog called Liberalism, which had fanart of Kai and Takao (Beyblade). Probably my first exposure to concept of seme/uke. X) It also morphed my art style a bit (hair, eyes, face shape).
4) At the same time I had finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This introduced me to regret/tragedy/self-reflection.
5) Still at the same time was Kingdom Hearts In came a new fashion: zippers, belts, and chains. Concepts like light/dark, destiny, struggle, etc. were introduced. Oh KH, you have no idea how much you've influenced me to this day!!

6) In grade 9 science class, we did a flame test on lithium chloride and I discovered the love of my life: the most beautiful, indescribable red colour that I have ever seen. I think about this colour all the time and it has become a trademark in my OC world. A good example of it created by Shirotsuki is shown here.
7) So of course the next one is *shirotsuki - particularly this deviation pictured here. I learned to love feminine-looking males, and an OC even spawned from it.
8) By this time I was exploring the world of deviantART and my favourite artist ever is *kurot for both her art and personality. From her, I learned to choose darker shadow colours which gave my pictures the contrast that they desperately needed. I also relearned how to draw eyes from observing her art.
9) I will never forget that "colour is light" stated by *shilin in her tutorial, which caused a big improvement in my colouring.
10) This pic by *kidchan introduced the concept of secrecy to me and helped to develop my OCs. Kidchan's art also influenced me to elongate the back of my heads.

11) BOOM! SUBBED ANIME TIME. Fullmetal Alchemist taught me pain, fear, and the possibility of different characters having different facial features yet still drawn in the same style. Wow!!! I also fell in love with ponytails and started giving ponytails to my OCs.
12) Naruto!!! Especially this episode (ep 133) which was drawn by GAINAX. It taught me not to be a perfectionist because you need to exaggerate things when it's 2D to make it believable. Naruto the show taught me about relating to others and how everyone has their own sad stories.
13) Bleach. It had a tremendous influence on my drawing style. Rukia made me become attracted to the short + skinny body type.
14) Of all the guys in Bleach, it was really the girls that made a bigger impact. Pictured here is Kukaku in her very awesome seme pose. I started to idolize busty seme girls with short tempers. Yoruichi. Tsunade from Naruto. Izumi from FMA. I created an OC with this outline.
15) Death Note (manga) introduced me to complex plot, solving mysteries, faking/disguising your personality, the lone genius persona, and most of all, GOTHIC LOLITA STYLE.

16) What FMA, Naruto and Bleach have in common is that some of their OP songs were by Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Their music is so inspirational to me. When I listen, pictures start forming in my head!! So magical.
17) Minesweeper, Windows' computer game. I've been playing ever since my parents bought a computer and I've become quite good at it. This game taught me about fate, luck, karma, war strategies, and God. I created an entire OC world based on minesweeping. I'm still developing the characters today.
18) I once had a pet fish. It was a Japanese betta fighting fish and it was the most beautiful blue colour. This colour and this fish inspired 2 more OC designs.
19) ~klar made me discover the beauty of the colour brown. I never liked brown until I saw this picture. It made me realize that all colours can be pretty when used the right way.
20) ~-achiru- 's drawing of her OC Raven here taught me delicacy, endearment, and the beauty of coloured eyelashes.

21) I had a blip with Katekyo Hitman Reborn! and I must say, this anime is completely eye candy for girls. Watching the show made me start drawing mouths lower on the face. Unfortunately I still sucked at drawing guys.
22), 23), 24), 25) BAM! Next came a gradual revolution of style as I learned dynamic poses from Avatar the Last Airbender, face expressions from *joodlez , a touch of realism from *JC-Of-The-RedFlame , and female anatomy from the master, =Teruchan . (I think maybe I also started to like yuri LOL)

26) *DS-Hina made me appreciate female characters with straight black hair. They are my personal femme fatale now.
27) *Unknown-person made me go back to the basics and explore how to use shapes and angles in an aesthetically pleasing way, and again my style was changed. And with the Law of Talos tournament held by =Sins-Of-Angels came a new fashion style: steampunk!!
28) America's Next Top Model is a great inspiration for poses. It made me think about the picture as a whole. Pictured here is Nicole Fox, the winner of cycle 13. My other favourites are Allison Harvard (aka Creepy-chan) and Ann Ward (who just won cycle 15 woot!!!). Yes, I relate to the weird, quiet ones.
29) *Phobs along with the book called "Generals Die in Bed" and the movie, "Inglorious Basterds" made me appreciate the war theme and the outfits, especially the poofy pants tucked into boots.
30) And the most recent influence is Gustav Klimt. I love his use of 90 degree angles in the poses and it makes me want to think more about angles.

So now you know why my art looks the way it does. Did anyone read this far?

Oke, So I took my time to look at every single pic, every comment you made about it, following every link and exploring them thoroughly (I especially enjoyed *Unknown-person How awesome is his character Karl).

It's fun to see what influenced you and we share some e.a Bey, DBZ, FMA, ATLA, DN, Naruto, Bleach but they influenced you in a complete different way then it did me and I think that is the most interesting. How the same things can mean something to different people in a different way.

Haha, I wish I could actually improve cuz of the influence like you do but alas

You win the internet for taking to time to do all that!!
I agree, it is interesting. And there were a lot of other things that influenced me but I had to leave out. >.< But I chose these ones because they made me "try something new" which I think is important in improving. ^^

I love this and I think what influence you into the artist that you are today is really interesting but what I like best about this map is that below the map you wrote what is pic was and why is meant or influence you, and me being me just find that really cool.

I'm glad you found it interesting and that finally somebody appreciated my super long description!! I felt that if each of these things really did influence me, then they deserve to be explained and memorialized here.
