I just liked how the colors turned out on my bird named Lugh. It is a prehistoric bird called Phorusrhacos. Inked and then colored in Photoshop.Related content

Thanks! It is actually based off of a real prehistioric bird called the Phorusrhacos bird [link] . One could say that the Phorusrhacos is the real Chocobo except that it is carnivorous.

Aw he's so pretty! The style of colouring is very nice indeed, especially with the comparison of the speckles on the armor with the strokes on his feathers and skin
The armor design fits him; it looks like it's strong enough to protect the bird yet lightweight enough so his movement isn't hindered. I can just imagine him running gracefully with a rider on his back

I'm not sure how you did the feathers and dotted coloring of the bird, but it's truly great.
The idea for the riding bird is also quite neat, although it makes me think of a chocobo, as some may have said before.
It also looks like a very mischievous animal, to be honest. I'm sure it was really fun to draw and color.

Thanks! The feathers and the dots were don by ink pen before I colored it in photoshop. I like chocobos and we chould of had real riding bird if prehistoric birds like them and the Phorusrhacos survived the Ice Age. Those real phehistoric birds were big enough to ride.

The bird almost looks like it's smiling. I know it's just a minor detail, but I like the angle of the head
I try to do that all the time with mixed results.
