Drawn for Icarus Ancalion's story "Dragonlord" over at Atlantis Big Bang on LJ/AO3 here; [link]This is a novel length story; go read and enjoy!
This story is a AU crossover with Anne McCaffrey's "Dragon-riders of Pern" Novels in which Our heroes (SGA) inhabit the dragon-verse. John (now J'ohn, of course...) accidentally Impresses a bronze dragon. This picture is from early in the story where J'ohn and the hatchling Lantis look out over Benden Weyr's bowl to the surrounding mountains at sunset.

Pssst, DRoP dragons don't have scales. It makes them easier to draw. They've got tough hide.
BUT LOOK, A PRETTY CROSSOVER I APPROVE OF! And maybe there's something different in the story.

Thank you! Actually I'd forgotten that,(the non-scaly hide-it's so long since I read the books ...)but I just wanted to draw a dragon that wasn't "cutesy" but was original and looked like it might be real!
John is of course always himself, whatever AU he finds himself in!
