the L-5E Battlefield Computer, is LAN-TECH's cutting edge in Portable Battlefield Technical Support Laptops, the L-5E model is the replacement of the L-5D model, incorporating all of LAN-TECH's latest developments in rapid computing.

the D model used an advanced form of DRAM memory, which allowed real time data transfer between the memory and processors, it had room for two K4 expansion modules, and was Mil Spec Battle net access enabled.

the E model however, uses UV Optical data channeling technology, to enable light speed computational speeds, as such it replaces DRAM, with "Trilocite" Crystal Optical Data Matrix's, an additional benefit, is the CODM's ability to store massive amounts of data, and transfer it to and from the Laptops multiple CPU's at real time speeds, eliminating the need for "Random Access Memory" entirely.

the E model also sports an expansion bay able to accept four of either K4 or the new K5 series expansion modules, in the expansion bay on the left of the mouse pad, it also has a data slot for an E-class Chrono Forces Artificial Intelligence Memory core. any E-class AI inserted, is able to fully function through use of the Laptops Secondary Processor, and it is able to assist the user with any and all tasks, including electronic security, advanced calculations, file finding, and a myriad of other functions, they even have full speech abilities, and preset personalities, though they are very limited in their learning capabilities, and are comparatively dumb compared to D-class Al's, which are usually the minds of class 2 Android's and autonomous vehicles.

the Expansion bay to the right of the mouse pad, is for the primary memory slots, the laptops primary Data storage units, comprise anywhere from one to fourteen, CODM sticks, each able to hold anywhere from 50 to 500 terabytes, also the bay houses the UV light suppression filed emitter which shields the data in the CODM from damage and corruption by the ultraviolet light of direct sunlight its also designed to serve as the primary mechanism for destroying the laptops memory whenever it is set to self destruct, by dropping the suppression field, and generating a bright flash of UV light potent enough to wipe the entire memory clean, erasing all traces of data in the system. likewise a separate UV flash bang system, is used for destroying the E-class AI core in the other expansion bay.

the Laptop, is also equipped with a high power multi spectrum Receiver/transmitter antennae which can transmit radio, satellite, and even directional optical data transmission.

the L-5E's keyboard has 104 keys, where as the average home computer keyboard only has about 64 keys. this accommodates for advanced mathematical functions, as well as 16 definable action keys, that can be setup for remote detonators, sentry gun control systems, and many other functions.

finally the Laptop is designed to survive all kinds of field conditions, and can survive several direct hits from light armor piercing rounds before being seriously damaged.
