Description completed this in about one hour. i reused the handle trigger, and lower front frame of the Multi Rifle, and from that built this:

the L-956MP Machine Pistol, is LTI's latest development in smart gun technology. it was designed in response to requests from the Chrono Legionnaires, for a weapon that could pick up for the L-932MR's shortcomings in urban warfare, since despite its bullpup configuration it is somewhat unwieldy in close quarters combat.

the L-956MP however is large by handgun standards, much like the Multi Rifle, though by contrast, it is slightly smaller than many designs of sub machineguns, this alone gives it a major advantage, since the Legionnaire's can carry and use two of these weapons simultaneously.

there are three basic systems in this design, it fires the MR's 24x72mm nickel iron encased cargo slugs, from its dual barrels, its ammo magazine carries 800 rounds, 400 slugs for each railgun barrel, which can be set to fire in any pattern the Legionnaire chooses.

additionally, this gun packs a low profile dual multi spectrum camera system, which work in tandem with a small combat computer to feed combat data directly to the legionnaire's helmet HUD, both cameras are hidden inside the barrel cowling on the front of the gun.

finally on the front guard plate for the ammo magazine is a wide spectrum ultra high intensity halogen flash bulb, which can put out an extremely bright beam of light, or can be set to flash bang mode, in which the bulbs capacitor system charges to full, and then lets out a flash so bright, that it will overload neurons in the brain, incapacitating living targets, and can even overload and disrupt optical sensor systems.

like the multi rifle the machine pistol is durable and resilient to field damage nearly beyond compare, and all additional features of of the weapon can only be accessed by encrypted neural command network, however unlike the Multi Rifle, the Machine Pistol lacks the built in hover system, and sentry mode.

This is a genuinely interesting peice. Made for specialists in power armor? I'd believe it would have to be, yeah.
In reference to warhammer, the bolt rifle and bolt pistol are both of .75 caliber (roughly 19mm if I recall). You'd be alot closer to the heavy bolter, which was 1.00 cal, or exactly 25.4mm.

Never the less, recoil would still be nasty. The concept of the bolter round is that it uses enough initial charge to get the round out the barrel, and then the internal charge takes over to make the round rocket propelled. So ultimately it's already useing a reduced recoil technology.

Ontop of that, the 24mm diameter round, don't you think it's a bit thick? Think of it as relatively 5/6ths the size of your enter button. 800 of those in one mag, it may be a bit of a stretch.

That being said, it's just fiction, and still a great brain-baby. I had a similar thought a while back. [link] The original gun in the picture is a Hamerlli 280 and I had someone shop an extra barrel down low. Not very impressive as of itself, but it worked for my roleplay. If you intend to persue this L-956MP further, please let me know.

this was my second original SketchUp model, all those problems you pointed out are right on the mark, this gun was basically thrown together on the fly, i didnt fully think through alot of the technical issues, which is why i let this design and several others like it fall by the wayside, heck i discontinued the whole "Chrono Forces" universe 12 months ago.

and ive come up with a number of more practical designs since then:
assorted Kallisti Confederation weapons: [link]
assorted CF and CR weapons: [link]
the CF's standard infantry rifle, the LK-97: [link]

and a bunch of "Triton Industries" guns from my new universe: [link]

to sum up, i will not be pursuing this design any further, though you have my attention regardless, feel free to contact me if theirs anything else.

I apreciate your time and attention to the note, Misone. I've taken the time to peruise some of your designs, and I must say: You are one brilliant mother^#$@er! I don't believe I've seen original concepts of this genius caliber anywhere on the net, and I do spend a good bit of time looking. I love your work, handsdown.

I`d say that the pistol is too front-heavy with the components where they are if it is one. I could understand this being a submachinegun like the MP5K, but not a pistol.

to a soldier wearing Advanced combat power armor, it might as well be a machine pistol, this wasnt designed with regular soldiers in mind.
any regular soldier trying to use this would have to support the front, and brace against a near bone shattering amount of recoil, this thing doesnt kick like a mule, it kicks like a howitzer.

I understand the use of performance-enhancing armor systems playing a role in wielding this weapon, although linear magnetic strips wouldn't cause that immense of recoil as you say. If anything, I would envision the pistol to have the same kind of recoil as a Bolt Pistol from WH40K.

Still, a front-heavy pistol would be harder to aim anyways, regardless of whether the wielder has power armor or not; but that was mere speculation. For all I know, the front of the pistol is constructed of some ultra-light material in comparison to the grip.

its closer to a standard bolter in size, and it was designed with more emphasis on firing rate than accuracy.

besides its one of my oldest designs, it was intended only for soldiers wearing high end Special forces power armor, and the "Chrono Sweeper MK I" general purpose automaton's, another of my really old and outdated designs (that i has not been posted here).

if you want to use the design for anything feel free to modify and or rename it as you like, i never used a creative commons license on this one, so its effectively public domain.

Ah, now I see. Just my personal preference for accurate weaponry setting in.

As for using the L-956MP in any shape or form for my own use, I personally have my own weapon designs so I'll pass up on that.
