I seriously want to paint a wall in my place like that.
( ... I love bees. A lot. )

shouldn't sherlock be a bit more "model-ish" ie, thin? John/Joan isnt fat, doesnt need the double chin. John/Joan is actually athletic just not sinewy.

I'm inclined to agree, very much so.
But I don't feel that either of them necessarily look more overweight than they should — I just tend to draw ladies rather curvy. I mean, I would call Joan well-fit, but I think that's just a reflection of my own preferences, hahaha.
I think I may also over-emphasise certain features that I idealise as very British, like round faces and large noses. This is all on me, as I'm very conscious of the somewhat subtle differences between Canucks and Brits. To me, Joan looks like a fairly average English woman.
( Bit ma folks're Scots, sae whit dae Ah ken? )
But these two do come out a wee bit different every time I have a crack at it ( see here: artbyval.ca/tagged/femlock ). I'll find some sense of consistency one of these days~.
Thanks for your comment!

Oh, thank you!
( I suppose I could push it a little further, but I'm sort of at the point where I'm just done for now. Perhaps I'll come back to it later, when I have a fresh perspective again~. )

Lovely colouring, I would put more details on the nicotine patches as at first I thought it was tears in pantyhose and I thought "Why would Sherlock have pantyhose on her arm?" to which I thought maybe they were deducing some sort of case involving pantyhose to which I was thoroughly mistaken. lol
DO IT! BEE UP YOUR WALL! I actually want to do a wall in my house like the 221 Baker St one. I might do it in the spring/summer this year.

You're 221% right. I think it's because the patches look a little flat (and don't look like a different surface from her skin). I'll edit that, yeah. Thank you!
I've been thinking of doing that for some time as well. The only caveat is that I'm renting a wee place where I'd have to get the landlord's permission to paint. I thought of a way to print off posters in the pattern and tile a section of wall, but ... ehhh.
Painting bees on my wall is going to be my biggest motivation to become a homeowner.

Well you could do the next best thing, do a little silk screening or iron-on project on a set of bed sheets!
